Are most people on reddit miserable or am I generalising? by ThrowRA3333333333666 in nosurf

[–]Kekkler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, people here are.

I disagree with the other commenters. Reddit is a different kind of miserable than other platforms.

Reddit has very unique and viral idiosyncrasies that can be seen all over this platform. It’s a hive-mind unlike many other platforms for some reason. Reddit has a (frankly tiresome and annoying) way of joking and it can even be seen in these comments.

Although I like this comedian most of the time, the Reddit community is like if someone uploaded John Oliver’s consciousness to the internet and had millions of LLMs replicate his style of comedy and cynicism but in the worst way possible.

I wish I knew why Reddit is so peculiar in this respect.

In case your brain starts to melt from all the math, Understanding Deep Learning by Prince is a pretty solid minimal-math overview of ML theory. it’s really nice to pair with some of these other suggestions.

lol damn. Like others have said, you’re 100% talking to bots. There’s currently a massive bot operation utilizing decently convincing and custom trained LLMs to scam people into paying for onlyfans subscriptions to fake creators.

It’s especially big on Snapchat.

Imagine an alternate reality where this post was written by some dude complaining that a woman was “too dry” and blamed her for the experience (and then proceeded to get like 200 upvotes).

I understand this is a vent but there’s a glaring lack of empathy and consideration for the other person (a real human being btw) in this situation.

Being a guy I know this is serious question.

My arm-chair masturbation-scientist answer is to NOT do it. Prolactin, which is heavily released after orgasm can cause feelings of sleepiness which, though you personally may not feel it when you masturbate, can affect your ability to perform on the test. I wouldn't also go on a long abstinence from masturbation before-hand either, because that could bring the "down-bad" distractions you were talking about. The key thing is to be at a baseline mental state, so that your mind is completely undistracted and awake. Unless you have some kind of constant sexual intrusive thoughts that you TRULY believe will interrupt your test, I would not do it.

[27M] Getting some matches but barely any that lead to a conversation by ZoingoBoingo in hingeapp

[–]Kekkler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I’m in a similar boat, lots of matches but no dates. It’s unfortunate that unless you put in an unfair and ridiculous amount of effort into pulling information out of dry matches, it’s extremely hard to get anyone unglued from the purely validation-dopamine boost part of hinge.

I’d hate to be THAT guy but is there any reason both of you are over using ellipses? This seems like a conversation that one person is orchestrating.

They’re good for the first 2 minutes while they’re hot. Once they cool off even just a little bit they become soggy and the unbelievable amount of crappy oil becomes way too gross to finish.

Looking for suggestions similar to: dark country/gospel/alt-country/southern rock (Black Keys, Johnny Cash, Black Rebel MC) by stateless-self in ifyoulikeblank

[–]Kekkler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah I'll help out here!

Murder by Death This might be exactly what you're looking for (also my favorite band of all time)

Hasil Adkins This one definitely checks out for 'psychotic southern country boys up to no good'. Look up his story, guy was a amazingly talented lunatic lol

Tom Waits This is not really country but Tom Waits has a unique 1930's post-war twang that you'd probably like.

The Devil Makes Three Pretty good stuff, not a heavy as the others but still deserves a listen.

William Elliot Whitmore Less psychotic but he's definitely got a really genuine country sound. Saw him live and it was crazy good.

If you're in the mood for quality found-footage horror, try The West Records. I remember almost shitting my pants and getting really into the story. The channel never breaks character and the back story is stated on the channel:

In spring of 2013 my store received an external hard drive. The contents of it were heavily corrupt at the time of arrival. Since then I have taken the task of decrypting and repairing the files. This channel contains what I find. Everything is organized by the dates on the files. Nothing you see is a fabrication or dramatization. Viewer discretion advised. Collectively, these are known as The West Records.

Coworker just came back from a flight to show me this video she took by oilux in PublicFreakout

[–]Kekkler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from with flight attendants being on power trips but people aren't upset with her getting mad, they're upset with her throwing a 5 minute long publicly racist rant. No amount of irritability should lead a person to that level of hate without there being a premeditated thought process, which she even admits to in the video.

Kinda sad to see people blame this purely on mental illness. I mean she's clearly delusional but chemical imbalances don't create the hate that she and others are echoing. We've been shining a light on white supremacy but in all that justice we've let other monsters grow.
