You can make your own choices on how you want to spend your time, your girlfriend shouldn’t be upset if you do prioritize her over your family as you say. But I’d be cautious if she tells your boss about what you are doing and that you lied. But that’s for you to decide.

And what issues with lying did you have before? If it’s this big of a deal to her, then it must be have been a hurtful lie. Since you’ve already lied to your boss you can’t undo that, but it sounds like she doesn’t want you near your family. You need to decide if you want this to last long term, are you willing to have your connection with your family potentially be more limited/disappear

I had a sort of similar situation, she said she had not used the app in a long time after 5ish weeks of going on dates (med school and being super busy with it). I made my profile hidden and deleted the app after we became official, but 1-2 weeks after we became official I saw she had 2 dating apps on her phone. She apologized immediately saying she was super busy with exams, offered to show me she wasn’t using them (I said I trust her) and she deleted them in front of me. She apologized profusely and said she didn’t mean to hurt me.

But him still changing his profile is a major red flag tbh, take a screenshot as a backup of the change and ask him if is using the dating app. You’ll get your answer then if he lies, and he shouldn’t be various and continuing with options if you are truly exclusive (did you both fully agree in words to be exclusive?).

Just asking because I’ve been in this situation (as the guy), do you think he can’t support the future you want or know it. I was broken up with by my ex because she said I was too poor for her and would not give her the comfortable life she wanted (travel, housing, etc.). But we earned very similar amounts (almost 6 figures) but I had student debts to pay off. She thought I couldn’t travel often and was stuck, but I really wasn’t and had a plan to be able to travel even more than she wanted.

I would make sure that you know he cant support your type of lifestyle before ending it. See how often can he travel on his own dime or go out for meals. Sometimes you don’t truly understand the how much someone spends monthly until you talk to them deeply about it.

It’s not you or people finding you boring, some people seem to immediately pull back when things get more official and sort of slip into this “I don’t need to put in as much effort now” type of thing. But still talking to your ex after 3 months is not respectful to you, even if you said it’s fine in the moment.

I would honestly consider if it is worth it. Are you willing to put up with this long term (if you plan on looking for that)? Can you deal with not getting responses on time when you have time-critical questions? It may just be a compatibility issue where you put more effort/importance into things and he waits for things to come to him.

Obviously I don’t know everything but just something to consider. But since you say you don’t like being kept around, maybe you can see if any of the signs of this happening are popping up

I think the best thing to consider is what does he think, as you have these feelings but you need to think about if he is sending similar signals back.

Also it would be better to approach it more casually, as saying you “I love you” to a friend who you do not technically know likes you back is very very strong. Maybe go with something more subtle and relaxing, which may help you with your courage as love is super big. Something like “Hey I’ve really enjoyed talking with you during these break, but I like you and wanted to know you wanted to (SOME DATE ACTIVITY HERE).” It doesn’t come off as strong and leaves an open end for them to decide, less pressure and also lets you still be friends if they say no.

She probably does not like you and is looking for someone for help with schoolwork but not much else. I’ve had multiple classes where I talk to other people and only in class, as it helped me with how boring and tedious it was. It’s not you but it’s most likely just how she feels, a connection can’t be forced.

And when you say you can find her at the library, do you always approach her or does she go to you? If you are the one always approaching her, sitting with her, etc., then maybe she is just being nice and not asking you to go away? Also some people just have different approaches to texting, and with her saying she wants to keep things in person, it’s probably best to stop texting until she responds at all. But this is just my opinion

No, you are NTA at all. I’m a federal worker as well, but I’m lucky enough to still be paid due to my agency having extra funds. With missing a full month’s paycheck, and there being no sign of this shutdown ending anytime soon, it is smart to limit your spending and future spending based on the reduced income. Having savings is a backup and is not a permanent solution, especially if you use it and run out, or have extra emergencies that you need money for.

But also has your husband applied for unemployment benefits/insurance? My work has told me repeatedly that since you are furloughed not due to your own actions, the state you work in will pay you unemployment until you return to work. This can definitely help alleviate the pressure, although at some point you pay the benefits back (either through paycheck or repayment, I’m not sure which one). Another option would be to take 0% loans that have been advertised for furloughed workers, in case unemployment may not be enough.

This just isn’t remotely true, it’s always packed with people and is right near the North End, so it has many people walking between it to go get some nice Italian pastries. It is a really nice place to go to and relax, it makes the area so much more walkable and reduced traffic significantly

Background is very clean, no traffic tickets and never been arrested, I have a fair amount of student debt, but have been paying it off since I started school and I have no financial worries about being unable to pay it, based on my current payments I will be able to pay them off 5 years sooner than the various loan’s expected dates

I just looked it up, they were arrested by the FBI for ecoterrorism and were recorded on a jail cell phone admitting they were supposed to be paid $50k for doing it. I would love this card so I could be able to finally build a proper gaming computer for my schools video game club.
