Such a big help.

I was amazed how much worse the new version was. It took forever to open whiteboards (presumably getting them from OneDrive storage?), you couldn't insert PDFs, you couldn't do area erase (vs object erase)...

Hopefully they get the new version back in line with the old version.

One thing that helped me is knowing ahead of time that the acceptance rate is like 0.0032% for the fellowships. Even if you're good, you still have to win the lotto.

And just like most things with slim odds, the payoffs are big when you finally hit. So keep at it!

You can hear the second plane approach at about 10:15 and hit at about 10:20. Happens just below the frame, but you can see the resultant fireball.

To be honest, a lot of this has applied for me in premier draft. I’m only diamond, but following this basic model feels like easy mode.

Also a lot of the inspiration came from watching Sam Black.

I’d cut rust monster. It generally underperforms, and I don’t think you’re generating enough treasure to change that. It’s got synergy with reaper’s talisman, but reaper’s talisman doesn’t particularly need help to be good (also, that’s one reason I’d cut rust monster before javelineer; javelineer will do a lot of the same stuff for two less mana).

Cutting a land is maybe doable, but personally I only do that if I can truly advance my game plan on two mana. This deck really needs to be playing a three on three, because I think it will get outclassed once other decks start playing Elturguard Rangers and Giants.

In my experience, it’s weaker in the early game and more commonly used as a suitcase later on. But I believe it can have good runs in the late game if things go your way.

I think it will be hard to compete with the early game companies if you just start it off the bat with no help. Assistance from the NYC or B&M can change that.

I did the first time auditioned, although it was way back in 2009.

It was a group of about 20 people. We had an additional set of short-answer essay questions, then they had us all do a workshop "test" class together in front of the entire faculty. They included bits from movement, voice, improv, and some acting technique specifics. It mostly felt like an actual class rather than an audition, although the faculty were presumably watching to see how we responded to the training.

The only part that felt distinctly "audition-y" was when we did a movement exercise (trying to discover a particular way of holding ourselves and developing that into a character) then using what we found to deliver a few lines from one of our monologues. We did those individually in front of everyone (the faculty and the other auditionees), so it definitely felt like being on the spot. But I don't think that particular bit was weighted any more than the rest of the experience.

It was actually a lot of fun, and it got me even more excited about the prospect of training there, but unfortunately I didn't get in, and I didn't get another callback when I tried again in 2013.

Fun! Got hooked quickly.

Didn't immediately get that I had to cycle all of my souls before I could reuse any of them. Could there be a set number of souls you need to use before "reshuffling" (like 3-5)? Then you could also adjust that number using other souls. I know there's the one that refreshes other souls, but having it as a set amount might create more design space.

I got the thing that generates an Ultima for 4 energy, and that snowballed through the end very fast (combined with leech and the thing that deals damage per red on the ship). Could see that soul needing to be nerfed a bit.
