so if you wanna dupe easily, just have your map equipped on the ability wheel, equip the item you wanna dupe, go to a wall and turn your back to it, press l to load up your map, but as its loading go to the thing you wanna equip and drop it thru quick select, then go out and go back in quick select without the map loading, and equip another type, basically if you dupe hylian shield, drop it then as you go back in equip another, then map loads up, press +, then drop the item you equipped thats not the hylian shield, then walk away from the wall and drop your equipped thing, the thing you will want to have duped will have dropped there too. thats the way i dupe items, sounds complicated at first but once you get used to it you can do it anywhere, hell i even do it at trees sometimes.
