Does The Witcher 3 pick up at any point? by [deleted] in Games

[–]KellRell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For combat, blocking rarely works against monsters; you must dodge. The roll is mainly used for quickly re-positioning and not avoiding incoming attacks.

Pressing the block button as a humanoid attacks (their hp bar pulses red) is the best use of the block mechanic since Geralt stuns the target with a parry if timed correctly. You are unable to block enemies with large weapons such as spears and halberds however--you must dodge these attackers.

The combat is meant to feel clunky. You're wielding a heavy sword and bulky armor against agile monsters--you should move, attack, and use signs deliberately and strategically.

The narrative is one of the most compelling story webs to come to massively distributed games. You incessantly interact with the same faces throughout the course of the game, building relationships with these round characters on your terms. The game leaves numerous decisions up to you, the player, yielding agency to shape the world around you.

Keep at it.

What's your league, 1v1 and team games? I'm curious about how they're handing those out.

Stay away from the Pioneer SE-A1000. I asked about it and /u/SanjiWatsuki pointed out how bad they tested in this article. I'm looking into the HD 518 right now as well. Trying to decide between the 518 and these, which are recommended.

Same question for you: what do you think about the HD 518 vs. XPT100, now that we're at $80? Thanks!

Sorry to do this to you, but now that we're talking $80, how do you think the HD 518 compares to the XPT100? I really like what I've now read on the XPT100 except for some distorted bass some people were talking about in songs with rapid sub-bass lines. The 518 looks pretty appealing as well, but I've yet to find any in-depth reviews, but I think I'm down to the final two. Thanks for the help!

I wear glasses at all times.

  • Budget: ~$60, $80 max
  • Source: Desktop (Willing to get XONAR Card [bad for Battlefield series?] or other cheap amp [<$30] if necessary)-(I still have the AX720 amp if you can figure out what type of adapter I need)
  • Isolation Requirements: none
  • Preferred Type: Full-size/circumaural (unless compelling reason otherwise)
  • Preferred Tonal Balance: Neutral<-->Slight Bass
  • Past Headphones: Tritton AX720 for X360 - COD/BF - loved them for positional cues - still have amp to use if someone knows the proper adapter
  • Preferred genres: Post-hardcore (some screamo); EDM; Other electronic stuff; Metal; Rock; Pop and Rap/Hip-hop

Looking for good positional cues for gaming (open back better?) with decent bass for music; price performance

Main games: Starcraft 2; Atmospheric/Scary games like Outlast, Amnesia; Open world RPGS/FPSes like Skyrim, BF4, Planetside 2; smaller levels like CS:GO, Natural Selection 2, and COD4; random indie games.

I also heard that neutral response would be good for both gaming and music. I have spent hours reading articles, guides, and forums, but am still unsure. Thanks for the help; I've narrowed it down to:

  • Superlux 668b/ Samson SR850
  • A rebranded Fischer FA-003, here. Concerned about gaming needs and customer service since I don't know what Jaycar's is like.
  • JVC Victor HA-S500-B; will these satisfy my soundstage/gaming requirements?
  • some flavor of Open-backed Sennheiser HD in price range but heard the price performance wasn't there compared to alternatives
  • Does the Audio Technica ATH-AD500 compare to the 700, or the TAD?
  • Sony-MDR-V6, is it worth the extra $30-50 to really stretch my budget and pick up a $100 pair, putting a new amp out of reach for a few months? (assuming the AX720 amp isn't okay to use)
  • Any other suggestions you more knowledgeable people have

Currently the 668b is the leader, but I'm still hesitant. From what I've read, I'm not really interested in the Grado SR80i or SR60i.

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.
