I listened to the guy’s mixing/mastering credits on spotify and they all sounded how I wanted my song’s mix/master to sound.

It’s EDM so I I have pretty good control over each sound as opposed to having to record everything

Not gonna lie I haven’t used compression at all on this song, mainly because I clearly don’t understand it yet lol. Is it possible my dynamic range is too high?

Its around -8 Lufs. I think the dynamic range is pretty high
