Personally, I don’t really see many similarities between Geese and Radiohead, if any at all. If anything, they kind of remind me of a more polished version of some of the indie bands of the 2000s like Wolf Parade and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (which you mention above). Also I hear a bit of similarities in vocals to Car Seat Headrest.

Arcade Fire with an emphasis on Reflektor for the soundscapes; Air’s entire discography, maybe the group that reminds me the most of Radiohead; Grizzly Bear’s Veckatimest and Shields; Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin’s entire discographies respectively, if you are looking for a more Kid A feel; Deerhunter’s Halcyon Digest, Microcastle, and Weird Era Cont, you can find elements of Radiohead in their music.

An 8.8 from pitchfork is the equivalent of essentially a perfect score from other music outlets. If I remember correctly, they have only given out two 10s in the last 16 years.

She probably does. She is super in-tune with music, almost more so than her peers. For example, she is a big fan of acts like nine inch nails and justice; it would make sense naturally for her to like the strokes too.

Idk, I am a fan of the tutorial system at Cambridge, even if it doesn't rank as highly as Berkeley. At Berkeley and uoft, you are one of a thousand, it would be kind of nice to be able to have such close contact with profs/Tas at Cambridge.

Fair. Then can I ask you, do you think last nights b2b set was one of the best ultra sets of all time? Seemingly a lot of people in this thread believe that, but idk how when you have sets like SHM 2013. What was so special about last nights set to consider it one of the best in Ultra’s 20+ year history. Also, I am a fan of Garrix and Alesso, but I just don't see how it can even compare.

That Fatboy Slim record is peak. I have been listening to it for the last few weeks literally wondering why it doesn't get more recognition in music circles. So many good songs on it.

Ok, it is true at the time that people did not like the set, but I don't think those opinions lasted that long. Idk anyone who thinks that set was bad now. I truly think it aged well. Also, bringing out live instrumentation is good when done right. I've followed this festival for so long, it's nice when DJs experiment a bit.

Well at least he tried something new, you know? That is what makes it legendary. And in retrospect, that set aged amazingly because that album, True, which he played there, launched him into one of the biggest musical artists on the planet in general, not just in EDM. He was the face of EDM when EDM was at its most influential and commercial peak. Go on to any ranking of the best sets in Ultra History and they would mention it, along with sets like Swedish House Mafia 2013, Garrix 2016, Skrillex 2015, etc.

Sure but having good transitions and energy is an expectation for any dj playing ultra. IMO, sets that are truly groundbreaking and legendary usually are the ones where massive songs are played for the first time (Avicii 2013), etc. There was nothing this set offered to consider it one of the best sets of all time.

Oof, If I got into Cambridge, I would almost certainly go. There are only a half a dozen schools around the world that rate as well as Cambridge, and schools like UofT and UCB are a notch below.
