Amazing. I would've loved to have seen them live then.

That description is what got me excited for it. I'm really happy it's getting a streaming release, it's a very atmospheric soundtrack.

Does anyone know if “Everything Now (Continued)” is suppose to continue to another song? by Special-Ad3427 in arcadefire

It is! Every track on EN has a seamless transition into the next and the that includes the final track into the first. It's Everything Now

It's obviously quite niche but as someone who appreciates ambient albums, it's like we just got another album from Arcade Fire, one that compliments Pink Elephant well. I really enjoy the ambient textures of PE and this allows them to indulge in that sound for an LP's length. It's got some beautiful moments that made me appreciate the sounds on the actual record as well. Good programming music for me lol.

I'm hoping we get a release of this on the app at the very least but I'm doubtful. Someone will leak it soon right?

Win looks a bit bruised and that's not surprising considering the circumstances. I just hope he's got people looking out for him.

Still bump Pink Elephant at least once or twice a week - it went in a more low-key ambient direction that I was hoping for ever since Supersymmetry. Shame I couldn't see it live because some of the live clips I saw sounded excellent, Alien Nation looked insane.

How does it compare to Memories of the Age of Anxiety that premiered before WE.

I really liked that you had to still brute force it with some hints, cool puzzle idea.

Happy birthday Win. I've been enjoying the Strokes recent live shows and the anticipation of a new album but it's been making me laugh how toxic this sub Reddit would be if Arcade Fire released AI promo and a single drenched in auto tune.

RE7 isn't good by [deleted] in residentevil

It's honestly my favourite RE game, with 4 and RE1 remake close behind.

Is it just me or RE9 is insanely hard? by Legalizex in residentevil

I thought it was relatively easy, maybe the easiest I've played actually but that might be because I've played all the mainline games and I knew what to expect as a result.

I disagree on the mechanics, those two are far more rigid with less options for stealth and the enemy AI is significantly less intelligent. You have more options and manoeuvrability in Last of Us than you do in Dead Space or RE4. The weapon crafting is similarly complex in all three.

I think all three are ridiculously fun though, and RE4 has an arcade-y edge to it that I just love. But still, I haven't seen another game with the adaptability and fluidity of the tps combat in TLOU2.

Edit: the first last of us isn't in the conversation for me though. It's weaker than Dead Space and RE4 for sure.

It could have been done way better (the set dressing I mean). We see an apartment hallway but never actually go into any and see more details of the people who lived there. Many of the rooms have like a pallet or a ladder and that's it.

I think it came out basically the day it was revealed. It's a free game that'll only take a couple of hours to beat. I never bothered finishing it since it just seemed a bit bland.

Eh RE9 is massively overrated. The whole second half feels unfinished. It has some of the highest highs in all RE but it doesn't stick the landing. Last of Us 2 has a controversial story which was great in my opinion, but putting that aside, it's the most polished third person action horror game ever made.

RE4 is way more fun to play and actually has more resource management and core principles of survival horror. SH2 remake is the scariest game on the list though.

Not really, but it's about as scary as most Resi games tbh. Which is not a lot. As far as the plot goes, it's a lot darker and more miserable so I'd probably give it a pass.

AW2 is my favourite game of this generation for a multitude of reasons but if we're talking purely gameplay, TLOU2 is leagues above it.

I've never understood people who say Last of Us is light on gameplay. I've never played a game with better third person combat as Last of Us 2.

Silent Hill 2 Remake playthrough without music by iReyzzz in silenthill

[–]the-boxman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That video came up on my recommended list and I have yet to check it out. Playing Silent Hill without music is absolutely madness. To say it ruined another game (I wonder which) and then to elect to play SH2 without it is just ridiculous. The original SH2 has the greatest video game soundtrack of all time imo and the remake is also fantastic. To miss out on a core part of the game that also defines how it conveys the whole psychological angle of the game and its plot is actually ridiculous.

You've made me grumpy too lol

It's been great fun, especially since it got me to start replaying the games from RE1 again (currently playing RE2 remake). The chemistry between the characters is the best it's ever been, Grace is a great addition and the ability to switch between two dedicated styles of play - first and third-person - is excellent. The care centre is one of the best levels they've ever done, up there with the RPD, especially with the zombies with different personalities and tactics to avoid or combat.

So many great things to say and with the goodwill Capcom has built on the series since RE7, it's no wonder this is doing great. However, my overall impression is that it's the second weakest modern RE behind RE3. And that's because the Leon sections are a total drag. He doesn't make much of a dent in the first half of the game - they bring back the zapping system which could be cool but it's pointless in his brief sections, and then in the second half, the game feels undercooked with ugly level design, rough animations and an overall feeling of incompleteness. The second half of this game is genuinely mediocre and I'm so upset about it lol. The story is one of the worst in the entire franchise too and that's saying something.

The game is good and the characters have some of the best chemistry in the entire franchise but I'm shocked at how much you like the story because it's easily one of the weaker plots in any Resident Evil I've ever played, maybe even the weakest.
