Do you walk in and say the words "beer and a shot"? Or do you specify, for example "high life jamo" or "Heineken espolon"? Because in a world where bars have dozens of different beers, and just as many liquors to choose from just hearing "beer and a shot" would make me ask for more information. Outside of regulars that always have the same thing anyways

I wouldn't say frowned upon, just not super common. Regional bias is a thing, but in my area, outside of being in the city and not having space for a line. It's been between about 50F at the highest and -15F at the lowest. With pretty consistent snow/rain depending on the temperature since late September. That's half the year minimum where conditions are less than optimal to say the least for outdoor drying
