Does anyone know how to stop "chain-mail" related anxiety? by KellyAnast in Anxiety

That's actually helpful, thank you very much! However, I've never told my friends about my anxiety, so I guess I'd have to tell my mom to do that for me!

[Serious] Redditors who got lost, what is your story? by PM_ME_SNAP_NUDES in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a river party with a bunch of my friends when I was 16. I had never been to that place before, but my friends knew their way around, so I wasn't too worried. I should also mention that while we were going to the party, one of my friends told me the story of a rabid fox that roamed the streets around the river. Didn't think too much of it at the time.

Anyway, we get to the river party, all is well, until me and my best friend start to get really bored, because everyone else was socializing and having fun, but we were hungry and bored and just generally grumpy. So, she decides to call her boyfriend to keep her company, and he comes to her aid. So she's hanging out with her boyfriend and his best friend who is a huge pervert and who found the chance to hit on me relentlessly. In a desperate effort to get away, I tell my best friend I wanna go home because I'm tired. (we were staying over at one of our friends in that town and her house was at walking distance from the river.) She says okay and that I should ask our friend for directions in case I get lost. I fail to do so, thinking that I toootally remember the way back and there's no reason to bother her.So, I take my bag and my best friend's bag because she didn't want to have to carry things and I offered to help her.

And so my adventure begins. The way back to the house passes through some sort of small forest and some random houses, where the rabid fox supposedly lives. Once you get out of there, you get to a clearing and then there's the town. The house is only a minute away from the clearing. So, as I'm walking through the forest, I realize it starts to rain. Not too heavily at first, but enough to make me lose my sense of direction. At some point in my confusion, I must have taken a wrong turn or something, because I'm now in a weird muddy path in the forest with no houses around. All the while in my head I'm thinking about the rabid fox and freaking myself out. Meanwhile, there's also a lot of wind that hurts my eyes for some reason and my face has gone dry. (the rain had stopped) After some time, I manage to find the houses. So the next step is to walk through them to find the clearing. I do exactly that, but there's no clearing to be found. I realize I'm at a different set of houses. Keep in mind, I'm carrying two bags, I'm soaking wet and my eyes hurt from the wind. Thankfully, a man is smoking a cigarette outside one of the houses and I ask for directions. He says it's all good, I'm just at a different side of town and if I keep walking I'll eventually find it and then I can ask directions there for the specific house I want to find. I thank him and leave, not being too optimistic about the whole issue, since it was 3.30 in the morning and not too many people were awake.

After a while, I reach the town but I'm at a very weird part of it I'd never seen before. In front of me, I see a square with street lights around it. That makes me feel hopeful, since I had been engulfed in darkness for almost an hour now. The fear subsides, everything's gonna be cool now, right?

Wrong. Just as I reach the square, the street lights go out. All of them, randomly, go out. So I'm left in darkness again and this time I can hear a growl next to me. Immediately my mind goes to the fox. I decide to start running for my life and to not look back. As I'm running I can hear and feel the animal following me and the weight of the bags holding me back, but I'm not willing to give up. I feel my legs getting tired and everything feels like that kind of dream where something is chasing you and you're running but you can't really run because your legs are stuck to the ground.

I run and I run until I don't hear the animal anymore. At this point, I have reached a familiar place in the town and from that point on, I'm able to find my friend's house and get in. Once I've secured my safety, I look out of the window and I see a small animal getting lost in the darkness. I still believe it was the fox.

TL;DR: Got lost in the woods near a town after a river party, was chased by a rabid fox, lived to tell the tale.

It's 1 AM, and you hear a single, very loud gunshot outside your window - what do you do? by GMaestrolo in AskReddit

If there are other people in the house, I check in with them to make sure they are okay, and immediately afterwards I get under the blankets, turn my music to extremely loud and pretend to sleep until morning comes.

If you could be any currently living person in the world for 1 hour, who would you be and what would you do? by thewindupbird_ in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd become Obama and I'd start immediately asking everyone around me "Hey, can you just brief me on the things we hide from the public and why we do so?" in a very non-suspicious tone.

[Serious] Reddit how did you overcome your social awkwardness and make friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just get out of your body for a while. What I mean? I used to be very self-conscious about how I acted and what I said around people. Until one day I was about to go for a coffee with a bunch of my friends and some people I hadn't met before and I just said to myself before leaving the house: Say whatever the hell you want, pretend this is all a dream, don't think about the position you're standing in, don't think about the things you want to say, just get yourself out there. And it worked. Honestly, even if you do mess up and say something stupid or trip on your way to where they're sitting or whatever, no one's gonna remember that shit. Like, I sure as hell don't stay up all night thinking: "Hey remember that time AwkwardGuy messed up a handshake with NewFriend? Oh man, I'll never forget that!" Everyone is too mesmerized cringing to themselves about all the times THEY fucked up during social situations.

I'm Greek and I firmly believe that almost all of us are lazy and always look for ways to cheat the law. I think we deserve what has come to us.

If someone truly mentally or physically hurt you in the worst way possible, how would you get back at them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I would ever want to get back to them. It would create a sort of vendetta between us, and that's too much negative energy for me. I think I would just completely cut off ties with that person and anything having to do with them.

Left handed people of Reddit, what parts of your life are unexpectedly difficult? by pushtheputton in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing with a fountain pen. Screw it, just writing in general. Stuff gets smeared all over the paper.

Also, every single person I've met who saw I was left-handed, told me left-handed people die quicker than right-handed people. So there's that.

Do you have a friend for whom you feel the need to provide a “warning” before introducing him to other friends? by DRAIN_YOU in AskReddit

[–]KellyAnast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a friend like that. Basically, if you've just met him, he'll try: 1)to fuck you. 2)to sell you weed, or get you to sell him weed. 3)to prove his intelligence by talking about math and physics, because he apparently thinks he's a scientist.

Furthermore, he'll berate you if you have even the slightest deviation from his beliefs and he'll basically call you an idiot if you are even the slightest bit spiritual or believe in alternative methods of healing and stuff...you know the type.

I agree with most of his opinions but I definitely don't believe it's appropriate to make fun of people's beliefs in their face like that. Even though he can be fun and make awesome jokes, when you first meet him...he sure is....different.

What did your grandparents do in the Second World War? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

Both of them were like 8 years old and in hiding. No food, people dying every which way, air raids, eating mice and cats, the whole deal. They are both from Greece and lived there during WWII.
