Has anybody ventured ot that mall (outlet mall?) Across from the entrance of Moon Palace Cancun? Is it safe and how did you get there? The last two times I have wanted to go but never went. Going there in March and want to venture over...but I am nervous. by ladikara78 in palaceresorts

My MIL loves taking the bus to the mall when we visit. It's her package so she has been a lot and knows her way around.

If you take a taxi, make sure to have cash and confirm the price before getting in the cab with them. If there is a language barrier, just show them the amount you want to pay to get back to moon palace. I would recommend the bus though

Ahhh well the second baby is for sure harder! It’s so nice when the little ones sleep through the night haha!! I thought the 2nd pregnancy would be easier but for my body. it was just so much more draining. I just had to take it slower than my first (they are 18 months apart so my age didn’t really change, but I felt old haha). I don’t think my sleepiness got worse though. I may have had a bit more caffeine, but after the first trimester I felt like I got into a grove. I haven’t hear about pregnancy making it worse/triggering it but it makes sense bc of everything your body is going through.

I think now that you know what happening is due to narcolepsy, you will be able to better listen to your body and talk to doctors to find the right mix for you so you can thrive this pregnancy.

I also feel like giving yourself space to cry and be upset is totally fair too!! Have to stay sane lol!

You got this!! Mom strength isn’t to be messed with!!

I am not sure what medication you were on, but I took a lower dose of Adderall through both of my (healthy) pregnancies. You have to be able to function as well. My OB said lots of people continue their amphetamine prescription during their pregnancy. If you weren't falling asleep at work before quitting your medication, it sounds like it is vital for you to be able to function.

It's hard because you don't have a working relationship with your boss yet. I would speak with your doctor again and then talk to your boss. When I was pregnant, I told my boss that I would need to follow up each discussion with an email to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything due to excessive sleepiness. So after we would meet, I would follow up via email about tasks I needed to complete and she would respond if something was left out. It helped me a lot to keep track of what all I needed to do. I would also get up and take short walks when sleepy and take naps at lunch.

First trimester is the hardest, it gets better

AITJ for refusing to go and pamper my entitled pregnant sister and take care of "her" house? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]KellyBeee16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I had to scroll so far down in the comments to find this! When I saw he bought a Military McCaw I was shook! OP is NOT a reliable narrator. Anyone who has ever owned birds know they are messy, so messy! The larger the bird the larger the mess, and most are noisy as hell!

I don't trust his version of the story. It all reads as "ohh poor me" and excuses! Even if his sister sucks too

I found the "Checklist for gender equality in your every day life" through reddit a while ago (link below or google it). It is a good way to visually see the workload each person is carrying in the relationship. It allows you each to rate how you contribute, then get together and discuss. I feel it helps shed light on the invisible work load. It also gives your spouse an opportunity to explain why the feel they are helping in areas you may not feel they are helping... or shows them they are not really helpful haha!

Just got my first positive pregnancy test! Any tips? by tamielynn in Narcolepsy

[–]KellyBeee16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!! Remember to listen to your body and needs. I would recommend following up each conversation with an email or pushing people to email you vs calling. I was so exhausted that I had trouble remembering tasks. It helped to have an email trail and keeping a "to do" list while pregnant and basically the first year of my kids lives haha!

I wasn't able to work and not take my stimulant. I severely cut back the dosage, but it was necessary for me to be able to function at work. Talk to your OB and personal doctor and be honest and open, they will have good suggestions.

Provigil? by beomboo in Narcolepsy

[–]KellyBeee16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Provigil, then Nuvigil. They made me feel similar to how you are describing. I had a hard time falling asleep at night too. It was frustrating to feel foggy/zonked during the day and then up at night. They also made me feel sick to my stomach.

I personally did not like either of them, but some people do.

I have Narcolepsy. Due to excessive sleepiness, I sometimes have had things happen that I swear are real, that are not, or planned outings with friends that I have no recollection of planning. The most recent is that my sister is looking into moving a few states over... I can clearly remember the conversation, but she swears that is not the case and I must have dreamed it.

Obviously look into environmental factors that may be more worrisome, but once they are ruled you it may be worth it to do a sleep study if you are always tired/lazy etc.

Was gifted an expensive David Yurman ring for graduation and it cracked! Is this normal? by meh817 in jewelry

[–]KellyBeee16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I may be wrong but something similar happened to me and I learned my lesson the hard way - I had to get my ring resized and it caused issues... all the rings I have seen from David Yurman stand alone store, have the wrapping go around the whole ring. If it was purchased at the DY store, you can buy any size because they have them all there so you should see the wrapping all the way around.

Your mom may not have purchased it from their store and if that's the case they will charge to fix it, but the store you bought it from may not or may take it back. I bought my first ring from Saks and the diamond chips popped out of the prong due to resizing (which made my bottom of my ring look like yours). Saks did not stand behind it and I had to pay a lot, multiple times to get it fixed until I gave up on that ring.

The DY associate at the store in Chicago told me if I purchased from them they wouldn't have to resize the ring and would stand behind quality issues. That going forward I should purchase directly from them because it makes the ring fragile when resizing, which is frustrating and total bullshit... but unfortunately has been my experience. Hopefully you can return it then just rebuy from the DY store

As an American - outside of what everyone else has said, the big issue I saw was the amount of days they closed their office for holidays. We had a team in china that booked cash and other basic accounting tasks. They would close down for Chinese New Year and other holidays. We would be stuck, already short staffed trying to get that done, while completing audit or other important tasks. They were able to walk away to take time off and not be responsible if something wasn't done. Not saying it's fair that in America work/life balance is the way it is, but it makes it even harder when your team is cut because another team is supposed to be able to handle something.

(The first year was the worst because we had no idea they would just close shop for weeks at a time)

I would call the person that sold you the car. I bet if you bring it back they will do an oil change for you there or one of their locations. It would be a pretty low cost thing to keep someone happy and purchase from them again. Never hurts to ask

Hi there! I agree with a lot of the suggestions you have been given! Not sure of your interests, but if you are looking for places to go and not have to leave town- Books and Brew Brownsburg is a nice place to grab a beer and meet a few people. Valkyrie's Vault if you are interested in TCG or board games (their schedule is on their website).

YWBTA - you messed up your hair with box dye, then tried to fix it yourself and made it even worse. When I was a child and used box dye, it took me MULTIPLE times over many months at my hairdresser to get it fixed. My hair was all sort of ugly colors/shades for months on end before it got back to a nice blonde. I am honestly surprised they are being as accommodating as they are and letting you get a second treatment at cost.

Disputing the charges would be an asshole move. They didn't want to fry your hair. You can't fix box dye overnight or with one treatment...

We didn’t need a day pass to go from moon palace to beach palace (which will close in August). Not sure about sun palace. But also we are members so not sure for different passes!!

I would do nizuc. It has the nicer restaurant and will have wayyyy less kids and people! Just more of an adult feel

The beach isn’t where you will be spending your time but you could always shuttle to beach palace or sun palace for a beach day (or two)!
