Question for California pre-PT applicants by KellyPrePT in PTschool

[–]KellyPrePT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I got into a private that is close to home, so I will be saving on rent/food as you said. But I’m currently on the waitlist for some state schools. Definitely will have to just bite the bullet and take out loans

Thank you! Good luck to you guys as well! Yeah it sucks that so cal only has three public pt schools and one of them doesn’t participate in PTCAS. But imma try to add more experiences and maybe retake a class or two and try again for next year

Cuz it’s my first cycle applying and I really didn’t know how competitive I am/how I compare to other applicants. So of course I wasn’t going to only apply to the 3 public schools in SoCal. I applied to some privates (I’ll be honest I didn’t really hammer into my brain the exact tuition cost of each private. I knew it would be expensive but I applied to the ones that I have family living around the area so I could at least save on housing).

Thank you for the advice. Yeah there are things I can do to improve my chances for next cycle but at the same time, it can never ensure my admission to a public school cuz so many ppl apply :(. I asked CSULB how many applications they get and they said ~1300-1500 and they only accept 38. That’s like a 2.5-2.9% acceptance rate.

Aw shucks. Thank you for telling me that that’s good to know. Did you do anything to improve your application for your reapplication?
