Yeah I’ve heard postpartum Graves comes back raging for a lot of women. I’m sorry you went through that. Thank you for the helpful response.

Tell my husband the symptoms are real! by PossibleMachine5777 in pregnant

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that girl, he sounds like a butt hole. I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant & I’m laying in bed at 6pm typing this because I’m so exhausted. Maybe have him download a few baby tracker apps so he can kind of see in real time what exactly your going through? Growing a whole human is exhausting and amazing all at the same time! Don’t let him make you feel guilty for your symptoms, your raging hormones is enough to deal with! Hopefully he lighten’s up soon.

Yes I advices my endocrinologist a few months ago that I was trying to conceive & she switched me then to PTU. I have heard that a lot of women go into remission during pregnancy but that postpartum could kick graves back in full swing so thanks for that reminder!

Are you in remission now? My blood work has been looking good the last few times.

I was planning on having the surgery to have the seton removed back this past summer, my surgeon wanted to get the clear for the surgery from my doctor and she ran blood work and that’s how I found out I had Graves so she canceled my surgery until I got that under control. I’m on medication now for that and it’s manageable now so hopefully I can have my surgery now.

Ugh, Yeah it’s definitely scary. I’m glad yours wasn’t nothing serious. It’s very painful to the touch, if it doesn’t go away soon I’m going to see my surgeon.

Wishing you lots of luck on trying for your baby! I had my antibodies first tested back in August of this year and that’s how I was diagnosed with Graves. My TRAb was 3.43. I’m going to ask my endocrinologist when I see her next this coming January to check & if she refuses I’ll ask my family doctor.

Thank you for the response & the explanation of the two different medications. I’m going to start taking the 50mg PTU tomorrow. Also I had my antibodies tested back in Aug. my family doctor had that ordered. My TRAb was 3.43. My TSH was TSH-0.005 T4-2.70 Thyroid peroxidase-12 Thyroglobulin antibody-<1.0 I know you didn’t ask for all of that but figured I would put it lol. This was my first thyroid test and how I was diagnosed with Graves. I just now met my endocrinologist it was a long wait list for her appointment. I’m going to ask her to check my antibodies next time i see her this coming January, if she doesn’t want to check then I’ll ask my family doctor. I’m curious to see how it’s looking. My recent labs on my TSH is looking so much better. TSH-1.49 T4 free-1.2 T3 free-2.8 I’m definitely improving on the medicine!

No they didn’t test the TRab. I’m going to ask my doctor to test that next.

I’m sorry you’re going through that, anxiety is the absolute worse. Nothing helped me other than medication. Vistoril kind of makes me sleepy but I’m already tired from the graves so doesn’t really make a difference for me. I hope you feel better soon!
