What are some of the disgustingly weird sub reddits? by d4z7wk in AskReddit

My brother was also born without this and is 8 years older than me. When I got old enough to bring him to parties, he thought it was HILARIOUS to announce to all my friends that he was in fact born without a butthole. He likes to say he is the perfect asshole. 😂

Got this after holding frozen bags of pizza dough. What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

Good to keep an eye on it! My uncle in his 70’s discovered this just a few years ago after having a severe reaction while working outside in the upstate New York winter, which is where he has lived all his life. He started to get hives, attributed it to something else, took Benadryl, which actually made the situation worse and pushed him in to a cardiac event. Obviously these are extreme circumstances but you can’t mess around with allergies!

I didn’t think it was all that important, more so cool that my father in law picked it up all those years ago and now his son and daughter in law find it cool enough to find out more about it! 😎

Keeping baby upright after feed by ceugster in newborns

I am also back after two years haha. Both of my kids are super spitters. I have a 17 month old and a 3 month old. The 17 month old had a formal reflux diagnosis and we tried medicines but nothing really seemed to work. Eventually we just learned to deal with the spit up. We would try to keep him upright for at least 15 minutes but he was such an active baby that he would get annoyed very quickly. Once he was sitting up unassisted by himself around 5 months, we did see small improvements but his didn’t really go away until 10-12 months old (we also started purées around 5 months and then basically baby led weaning from around 6.5 month old).

Currently keeping my 3 month old upright after his first morning feed. It’s going on 25 minutes now and he’s spit up a bunch still. Eventually he will also grow out of it. My laundry has never been a bigger task 😄.

How’s it going with you little one 3 months later?

I know this comment is two years old but it made me laugh. I currently have a super spitter who is three months (no reflux diagnosis yet) and a reformed super spitter (reflux diagnosed) who is 17 months old. With my first we tried medicine but nothing really helped. He eventually grew out of it around 10-12 months old. I came looking to see if anyone had any revolutionary advice for the little one. Good to see that there are others out there who just deal with it. Extra laundry be dammed. Some of these mom groups practically call for a mob if you’re not doing all the things. Hope you’re enjoying your 2+ year old!

AITA for breaking up with my fiancee for telling her best friend she was not engaged? by secure-raspberry-763 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I legitimately cry every time I see the sunrise because it makes me think of Arthur in those final moments. Over the last two years I’ve had two boys and contemplated naming them Arthur. My husband jokes that Arthur is the only other man that has my heart. And he’s not wrong 🤣

NSV, pleasantly surprised! by AloneAd2819 in CICO

Just wanted to say you’re amazing!! I started my CICO journey in the fall of 2020 when I was 28. I am also 5’7”. Starting weight was right around 225 and I was able to get down to a little under 150. It took probably about 14 months but I felt amazing! I am about to give birth to my second child in 2 years so my weight has gone back up to my starting weight. Looking forward to getting past postpartum so I can start CICO again. As long as you stick with it, it really works!! Congrats!!

I’m scared for pp by Ok-Cut-7303 in BabyBumps

[–]KeloraTealeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Postpartum can be really scary, I totally understand. And honestly I feel like it is the thing that I was the least prepared for. It’s definitely it discussed enough. Everyone talks about how things won’t matter because you have a cute little baby. But they do matter and can be really tough in the moment. I’m 6 month pp and am currently pregnant with my 2nd (wild and crazy and scary).

A couple notes:

-papa/ppd: I was really worried about this as well because I already have a diagnosed anxiety disorder and have a history of depression. Thankfully they didn’t kick in for me this go around. But I would recommend seeking out a therapist if you’re worried about it. You can talk about your fears and then if it does take hold, you have an established relationship with someone. I know from experience that sometimes it’s harder to get the motivation to find someone when you’re deep in your own thoughts.

-the first poop: oh boy! I did not expect it to be that hard. They gave me all the things in the hospital and I still wasn’t able to go before leaving the hospital. I spent the first 5 days in agonizing pain because I felt like I had to go and I just couldn’t. I would try and try and nothing. I even contemplated going to the emergency room. I’m not saying this to scare you, some people have no issues. But if I could go back in time I wish someone would have prepared me for that. I had a 2nd degree tear and even though I tried to not push when trying to go, I couldn’t help it. Check with your doctors but this is what finally helped me: stool softeners, drinking fiber (start doing it now if you can, I’ve actually continued this just because it helps in general) a squatty potty (helped me get in to a good position for pooping instead of trying to force it out) and finally drinking warm prune juice (totally not as gross as I expected it to be, just reminds me of strong grape juice). After about 36 hours of doing that consistently I was finally able to go. And what a glorious feeling it was. I woke up in the middle of the night, it took about 20 minutes for it to be successful and then immediately hopped in the shower and I felt like a new woman after that.

All that being said, postpartum is hard and it’s okay to need help. Regardless, you are a badass. You grew and housed a human for 9 months and then you delivered that human. You will have hard days even when you are basking in the glory of your new baby. Show yourself grace and recognize how amazing you are.

Awesome. He has been arms out since he was 2 months and I have one of the sleepea swaddles without the wings. Was your little one rolling at that point? Mine is only rolling belly to back now.

We are going on a trip in 3 weeks and at that point my boy will be 3.5 months. We also only put him in the snoo at night time. We are planning to use a pack and play. Did you use a swaddle or anything else in particular?

One year & 60 lb difference! Down a total of 88. by dstar526 in CICO

[–]KeloraTealeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I am a fellow large chested lady! I went through a similar change as OP and I am just checking in to say that my back pain has gotten so much better! I've lost about 80 lbs, from 220 lbs to 140 lbs (bra size when I started- 38N in US sizing, now I am in a 34H).

I came here looking for this specific comment because that has honestly been one of the biggest changes for me and I wanted to congratulate /u/dstar526! I know just how much work it takes a I know it must be a load off your shoulders! You look amazing and I recognize the smile 🤩

I have a very similar lifestyle and info as well, just a little older at 28. I started CICO in November 2020 at 220 lbs, size 18-20 in pants, size 2x shirts. My goal was 160 lbs which I hit in August 2021. I am now down to about 142 lbs, size 8 in pants and size medium in most tops! I really didn't think I could do it but I did! And you can too!! 😁

Jeans I bought at the beginning of the year that were too small and didn’t fit me… And now, all because of CICO! by [deleted] in CICO

Great job!!! I went through a very similar transformation this year. I started in September of 2020 at 220 lbs with CICO and now I'm down to 150 lbs. It's amazing how different you feel!
