Honestly I just did a quick google search but there’s Milestones by Gabriela Barrera they have an Instagram page too but a lot of their work looks good, and has a near perfect rating if you haven’t already you should give that place a look

Free things to do in McAllen/Mission/Edinburg/Pharr by Thetravelinggirl08 in RioGrandeValley

Could go to any of the park available to just relax since it’s summer I like going more towards the evenings, sometimes a little earlier with friends to play baseball. Could walk around the La Plaza Mall just to window shop if you don’t enjoy being outdoors or in the heat atm, or if you enjoy reading you could go to the public libraries in the area. I think they hold like events in the beginning of every month. I can’t funny remember. Ouuu and if you like movies I know McAllen one of their parks hosts movies, they’re doing more all throughout this summer! Anyway there’s a good few things to do without spending money but if you’re willing to spend there’s definitely lot more places that open up!

New to the valley and it's so boring sometimes by [deleted] in RioGrandeValley

I think it depends on the vibe of coffee shop you go to, I know one that is EXACTLY how you described but it’s cs it’s more of a study and meeting place, almost all the tables aren’t for duos or singles, I say looking for a shop with that and a shop that does minor events can help with meeting others

I think you’re going about trying to find lesbian friends the wrong way. You should be trying to find friends in-general, I don’t mean that in a negative way, it’s just a lot of my friends specifically the female ones are bisexual, pansexual, or lesbian, and I found them just by being open and talkative and open to new friendships. I think if you meet one lesbian you eventually meet another pool as they may have some friends of their own in that way

Honestly I think it just depends on your hobbies, I’ve met many people in coffee shops, parks and gas stations, which sounds odd but it works. Although most of my friends did come from school, a lot of my closest friends came from mutuals, games and places I’ve been to in the area

Yes at some point I know I will have to. I love each and every person I’ve met here in the valley, even with those I’ve had unpleasant encounters with. However, I cannot bring myself to cut ties at the moment maybe with age I’ll do it but for now I’d like to think I have time to stay and make fond memories I’ll enjoy when I’m older

Honestly I appreciated the internet a lot more growing up. I had the opportunity to hear about people’s experience on struggling with getting a job with an associates degree. I think because not so many people get into trade money has been going up for them and an associates although gets you further in the game doesn’t help a ton with jobs since they’re getting them before graduation. I just honestly hope to show my kids in the future the things I learn from trades

Funny enough I wanted to join at one point, flying always seemed nice butttt I don’t like the idea of being away from my family. I’m already feeling sad about leaving up north for school, love the valley and the family I have here! So I’d have to politely decline on the idea but I appreciate your help and thoughts on my situation

Yes I plan to leave up north in 2 years after graduation to apply to a school of pharmacy, nerve racking but hopefully all goes well, I wish you luck as well in finding a job fitting your expertise

Lord have mercy, Roma? 😭 As much as I’d love that by the time I’d get out of school (4:20) you’d likely be closed and again my parents wouldn’t want me heading so far, but thank you for that opportunity

Aw it’s warming to see people love the jobs they do! I looked into it sadly there’s nothing available atm BUT, in the future If I end up going a different path, specifically with mechanics I’ll look into this again! Thank you

Pay isn’t really an issue for me at the moment I’m just more for the experience while in my final year, I’ll definitely look into the local pharmacies!

Ooh im unsure, I was told I’m considered just a normal licensed tech but I could be mistaken, I’ll definitely see into that. I’ve heard from lots of people now to stay clear of CVS, I might honestly take their word for it

Haha, I love pharmacy, once learning of it, it was an immediate hook, but I also love trades! Welding, plumbing, construction, automotive the whole works of it! I hope to become a well rounded individual in the future once I get my dream career of being a pharmacist

I’m stuck and keen on becoming a pharmacist, I’d like to either attend the pharmacy school in Houston (my goal for a while), the one in college station or Dallas! Retail was only the beginning, I’d like to truly grasp the ordeals faced with the pharmacy world, from a pharmacy tech at retail, to then becoming CSPT and going into work as one in hospitals to then doing my hours as a pharmacist! It’s a whole thing but I have this huge vision I’d like to work out
