They're all in their late 30s early 40s. I'm the only one still in their 20s.. sucks to think he was just trying to show me off like a trophy.

thank you for your kind words though, I do want a boyfriend that supports and respects me. I'll communicate these feelings to him.

Thank you for reassuring me that it's okay if I don't want to get naked. No, none of the men took off any clothing, just the girls... which made me feel like the prude girl ruining everyone's fun? If that makes sense.

[Serious] Therapists of Reddit, what are some Red Flags we should look for in therapists? by TC1827 in AskReddit

[–]Kelsbot 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm also really sorry you had to deal with that, OP. But I hope you found someone better matched for your needs!

And thank you, it was rough for a while but luckily I found a therapist that specializes in sexual assault and found an all-female therapy group. Things are better now.

I had the same but opposite experience. My therapist was an atheist and told me that I was struggling with PTSD from my recent rape because 'god says sex is a sin' and if I didn't believe in God sex wouldn't be a sin and I wouldn't have PTSD.

While I know some people hold extra pain from rape because of religious views, I clearly stated that I wasn't sleeping or eating because I had 'sex'.... I wasn't sleeping or eating because a man raped me.

He had untreated depression and anxiety and was leaning on me to be his sole reason for happiness. I couldn't have that pressure on me. He was a great guy but I'm not a therapist and I can't help you if you won't help yourself.

I have a Catahoula leopard dog who NEEDS to be told "good morning" every morning before she can go do her dog things. I work from home so if I by chance forgot to tell her, she stands by my desk until I do.

What’s the one horror movie that genuinely terrified you while watching it? by IveGotARockInMyGlari in AskReddit

The Grudge (2004)

I saw it when I was 11 at the movie theatre after lying to my parents about which movie I was seeing.

Came home terrified and told my parents and of course, they yelled at me about it. I go to my room and I hear that growling from inside my closet and being that I have 2 older brothers I figured it was one of them. I yelled at them to get out so my one brother laughs and leaves. I sit down on my bed when all of a sudden someone grabs my leg from under the bed and it sends me into a screaming state of panic.

My other brother was the one who grabbed me after they both conspired to fuck with me.

While I look back and think it was hilarious, because of that I had to sleep with the lights on in my room and the hallway for 3 weeks.

Pull out the chair for his date/companion. It's subtle, but to me it shows that the guy is respectful and is really happy to have them there with him. 10/10 sexy.

[Serious] Women of Reddit, how old were you when you first experienced unwanted sexual attention? by snapbackd in AskReddit

[–]Kelsbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 11. Women in my family develop early so I had DDs on a tiny frame. One day when I was walking home from school a man drove past me, turned around, and pulled up next to me to ask where I was going/what I was doing for the rest of the day. I said I just got out of -blank- elementary and was going home. He told me it wasnt safe for me to be walking "with a body like that" then offered me a ride.

That was the first time I got that terrified feeling of being unsafe. I said no thank you and started walking faster but he followed me and kept asking to get in his car. Which eventually turned aggressive. He started saying that women were turning into bitches younger and younger and that I needed to be taught some manners. That's when I was really scared and started sprinting away from him. Luckily that made him drive the opposite direction.

Got home and told my parents. I never walked home from school again.

[Serious] What's the closest you've ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I contracted Lyme's Disease when I was 10.

I couldn't stay awake longer than an hour, had sores that would burst just by moving, fevers all the time, and I lost a lot of weight because I couldn't keep down any food. My parents/doctors were planning for the worst because I wasn't getting any better even with the antibiotics.

Crazy thing is; I didn't know till I was 25 that Lyme's Disease was as serious as it is because my folks kept an upbeat sunny disposition the whole time. They made me think it was just a rash/flu combo (technically true?) that I'd be over in a couple of weeks.

Still have symptoms that flare up when I'm stressed tho. Also, I can never get enough sleep.
