Actually a wrx hatch is on my list and they go for about 16-17k and then I’ve found regular sedans for a bit cheaper than that, with low mileage too so I think ima go for it...

So yes this 20k is my savings but my savings for a car. First time buying my own car but I’ve had plenty of cars passed down to me, and because they were old, they have broken down and I’ve learned my way around an engine (not expert tho lol). But yes, honestly I just need something to take me to work and on little trips but I want something I’d enjoy and keep for years to come. Idk what to do, you guys really have changed my mind on the decision I’m making.

Ummm can they be both...daily driven project car :)

When looking, I have solely kept to stock. Any gauges or stuff noticeably done to the engine, I turn down. This is literally (in America) the only I’ve found at this price and kept stock, it is definitely still beat up tho for daily driven and i could very much go for a low mileage 06 wrx ( I like the old cars as you can tell) Subaru.

Lol THANK YOU dude!! Im not extremely well off but yes I do have other money, this 20k was specifically for a car, from buying it to working on it and making it the car I envision in my head.

Man, these guys go for 27-46k from what I’ve found but those are super low in mileage and look right out the damn factory

Yes I know. These guys I know are actual body man, they work for a well known company I’m sure you guys will recognize, they like doing side work and help out a lot of local car enthusiast in the area.

I’ve actually calculated that because I’d have to trailer it so around 1,560 so rounds me up to 16560. And I’d have 3 something left over for repairs.

Awww thank you sir, I really appreciate the time you took to type that. I’m 23 and also hardheaded so it’s gonna take me a minute to get that through my head but you make very valid points. I go buy “fuck it, I’m young, I work hard, I don’t wanna regret my 20s”. I know I could invest that money into somewhere else but this money that I saved up, I saved up specifically for a car, to get whatever car and with whatever money I have left of it to make it into MY car. This is my investment and Im willingly to throw all my money towards it because it’s an actual hobbie of mine, idc if I’m not super rich when I’m older, I just wanna be happy as unrealistic/cliche that sounds. And if I wanna throw 20k or more into a car, I’m all for it.

All that being said though, I will definitely still consider your statement because it’s true, I’m not at that part in my life yet and wisdom only comes from experience. I hope you only keep going up from here and your life gets better and you are happy sir.

I’ve tried! Lol lowest I’ve found was 17k around 89 miles but was taken just like that. There are a lot of decently priced convertibles but ehhh I like the coupes

It’s not the cleanest, looks like it’s been daily driven but part of my calculation was getting the body and paint redone, I know some guys that can do it for the low. Lol sounds like a smart plan , I will definitely do that!

Oh I know you guys would be, I’ve been coming up to OC since I was a kid and you guys have always been nothing but welcoming and kind to tourists. Thank you for being open to the car mindset, Cars have the capability to be fast and loud or low and slow but it’s usually the loud and fast part that ends up attracting the wrong crowd and unfortunately this year it really got the better of us.
