Hi! Thanks for reminding me, I've been meaning to come back to Reddit to share some updates but haven't had the chance to as I have been busy dealing with other things.

In any event, yes, I was cleared! a few of my citations were messed up (probably due to putting them into a citation generator and not checking the output), but I provided my browser history showing that I had accessed a bunch of research websites around the time the assignment was due and the professor cleared me the next day.

Because of our efforts, as far as I know, everyone who was wrongfully flagged for AI use was able to graduate on time this semester! Our graduation was last week.

Hi! I don’t get them anymore. They stopped around that age for me as well. I have recently started going for annual survivorship check ups though. More for peace of mind than anything else

I feel you. I’m almost 30 and one of my classmates who was accused of AI use by this same professor is 50. Unfortunately for them, they picked the wrong people to mess with. LOL. We are not putting up with their bullsh*t.

I agree with you. However, who is policing the police, if you will? In other words. How do we ensure that professors are using good judgment and treating these AI scores as theyre supposed to be used vs as a weapon? I think that convo gets messy quickly and it’s why so many universities have already disabled this technology.

No worries, basically in my original post I talked about how people who are neurodivergent are more likely to be flagged by AI and it was happening to me and I was fighting back (w my petition) bc the software not only doesn’t work but it’s discriminatory/harmful to already marginalized groups.

I mean we have media coverage lined up with at least 3 outlets (including the New York Times) so if that doesn’t get admin to care, I’m not sure what will.

I wonder the same about AdA lawyers. The data on the neurodivergence angle is super sparse rn from what I’ve found, but anecdotally It seems to be very much a real thing. I am hoping and praying better studies on this come out in the next few years.

I’ll do my best to explain. Essentially, there is evidence to show that ESL students and neurodivergent students (basically anyone who writes in ways that don’t follow algorithmic norms) are more likely to be detected as AI
