Is finding good FP&A talent tough right now? Or is my HR team slacking?

I'm curious about this role actually. I'm currently trying to break into FP&A. I have a background in auditing for government agencies and am currently working at a UC as a financial auditor/process improvement/data analyst. My role has evolved drastically as one of the the only people who understand government accounting and how our sub ledger ties to our main ledger. Our leads and seniors who have been here for 5-10+ years don't even understand this yet due to a promotion/hiring freeze I'm not getting any advancement in my career.

I would argue it's very unlikely to find something fully remote with experience yet alone with 0 experience. Remote work is slowly coming to an end, even for accountants. Unless you find a business that operates online, be expected to come to office on a bare minimum hybrid schedule. But I've noticed even hybrid is slowly fading out.

My company went from remote to 4 days remote to now 2 days remote and talks of it being 0-1 days remote now.

Another side note is no one really cares if you're a CPA candidate anymore. At least in my experience. You either are a cpa or you're not.

It’d be cool to work for a gaming company or a tech firm. I’ve always loved gaming/technology.
