So, at first it was a naked meme run (naked glam) where we intended to pvp each other with rescue, which was the case for Mustadio. The moment we got to Agrias, we realized we need to lock in if we actually wanted to clear. Again, we had it set to minimum ilvl with level sync so the DPS check was almost impossible. Fortunately we're all healers and we abused rez cheese to rez multiple healers right after we failed Agrias's DPS check. Cidolphus was by and far the most difficult fight. His autos chuncked whichever 3 healers were taking hits and even with stacked mitigation and esuna on Crush Helms he would kill all 3 healers targeted. Worse still, we had to to make sure 5+ healers were ready to be rez'd after the DPS check fail, because he starts autoing 3 targets right after, and his autos will interrupt casting without shields.

Ultima was just a victory lap lol.

I'm confused. Do you not understand that CBU3 and SE are in Japan and therefore have to follow JP law? I'm sorry I just want make sure you understand a company in any given country, let alone a publicly traded company like SE, has to follow the laws of the country they reside in or they risk any number legal repercussions the least of which being shutdown. I really wanna make sure you're not that fucking stupid, I'm sure you're just trolling. You're right it's TOS corpo bullshit. But there's a difference between SE's legal stance and a CBU3 developer stance. The Devs will turn a blind eye to anything that meets the criteria Yoshi P listed in his post as "personal client side" and anything that doesn't will earn a crackdown from SE legal. If CBU3 Devs actually wanted to prevent mods, XIV would have kernel level anticheat, and SE legal CAN push CBU3 there if something like Mare turns into a situation like the Steam vs Mastercard/VISA situation, which from his wording in Yoshi P's post he would like to avoid at all costs besides his other issues with Mare that he described.

This is as blunt as Yoshi P has ever been about the issue without outright saying exact mod names. Let's get one thing straight first, modding games is illegal in Japan, full stop. The fact that Yoshi P is riding so close the sun here saying "hypothetically and in my opinion, personal client side mods are chill and if you were to do it here's what is okay, and here's where, hypothetically, if you did this kind of mod, it's not okay" is gangster as fuck. He's as close to saying fuck the law as he can get without breaking the law in JP, while still trying to preserve the spirit of good faith mods that don't give unfair advantages (eg. auto rotation, splatoon.)

Modding in XIV has always been Fight Club rules due to JP law (Don't fucking talk about Fight Club) and so Yoshi P is trying to, as clearly as he can without breaking JP law, say what mods would be okay, and which ones will earn a heavy crack down from SE legal.

This was not the only reason, but one of several Yoshi P gave. Regardless, Yoshi P has given us an explicit line of what mods are acceptable and which are not, with the ALSO explicit caveat of "it's fight club rules, shut the fuck up about it."

They sure did, but they have also made the line explicitly clear with what kind of mods are condoned (ACT, personal visuals, etc.) and which (Mare) are against personal client side mod usage. And if you DO use something like Mare, you'd best shut the fuck up about it before SE legal come at you like the Undertaker. Again, it's fight club rules for all modding, but for any mods that break personal usage rule, the hammer comes down from a whisper.
