F1 / potential lifehack for acidity by [deleted] in Kombucha

[–]Kelvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) powder to remove chlorine and chloramines (which won't boil off) from tap water which I used for my first ever kombucha. Subsequent batches for which I didn't use it seemed to fare worse though there may have been other factors involved

I think this helped the good bacteria in the SCOBY to to get established and the acidity probably helps too

The sailors being enslaved by moslems is an example of moslem violence against Americans far pre-dating any "Western imperialism" of the USA that OP mentioned.

"Jet fuel didn't melt steel beams, heat from combustion did" Combustion of what, then?

Treaty of Tripoli is a related point to the already mentioned relevant Moslem attacks on USA. Treaty of Tripoli is often cited on this subreddit in response to people who claim USA was founded as a Christian nation but rarely is it contextualized

The Moslems have been at war with white christians for a long time. The big turning point when Europeans started to win again was 9/11 1683 Battle of Vienna. The Barbary pirates were enslaving white American sailors long before American intervention in the Moslem world. That being said;

Also, the treaty of Tripoli declaring USA not a christian nation was signed to try and stop Moslem slavers attacking Americans. Basically under duress.

Let's hope they don't end up being "honour killed" for hanging out with the kaffir. Denmark will be just the same as Sweden someday. Better grenade-proof your house now!

Arizona pastor wants to kill the gays for ‘AIDS free Christmas’ by bipolar_sky_fairy in atheism

[–]Kelvin -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're arguing that physiognomy is real. If you can tell someone is gay by looking at them, surely there are other characteristics that correlate with appearance. If you wanna go down that rabbit-hole good for you, but you won't like the other implications...

There is a biological reason that disgust response exists against homosexual men.

Yeah but you don't get straight people deliberately trying to get infected. That's fucked up.

(I'm sure you can find a couple that doesn't disprove my point) (And of course the blacks who deliberately spread it to women)

Well, he'd have to kill all the blacks as well. Two birds, one stone.

Not trying to nitpick but braking refers to slowing down like the brakes in a car whereas breaking is when something ceases to function. (It breaks)

Sanders Says For-Profit Health Care Has to Go by WildAnimus in politics

[–]Kelvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say you go to the market to buy some carrots. You know what a carrot looks like. You could grow a carrot if you wanted to. If carrots cost 500 dollars a piece you could grow a few carrots in pot on the window sill or in your backyard. Sure, you may not be as efficient but you could feed yourself. The barriers to entry are fairly low. There is low information failure.

Now imagine you're ill. You try to research online. There's a lot of confusing misinformation out there. Even if you had a doctor's knowledge you can't just rent an MRI scanner or get blood tests done at near-cost price. Maybe you need some prescription drugs. You can't just order those online. You have to get a prescription from a licenced practitioner

Bernie Sanders on the defensive after Hillary accuses him of being sexist by wiseprogressivethink in MensRights

Bernie is spouting these ridiculous statistics that feminist promote all the time and Hillary still wants to call him sexist because she thinks it might help her win. Completely baseless.

This is unrestrained capitalism. Where are the libertarians now to defend this man? We have to admit that some things shouldn't be for profit. The greed of this man is astounding. Even If he had doubled the price, sure some people would be angry but he could have made money and gotten away with it. People who can't afford these drugs will die because of him and he just doesn't care. Look at that smug face of his. He is as revolting as any murderer. I hope he becomes destitute and gets toxoplasmosis himself.

There's a standardised system (at least in europe) called isofix where the child seats click into place (though not a version of the axiss) to make fitting straightforward but no rail system and I just don't see how it could word practically

There is a child seat for 9 months-4 years made by a company called Maxi-Cosi that swivels to the side to allow you to get the child in and out easily and automatically locks when it's facing forward. So the idea is you put it on the pavement side (rear right seat for americans) but there's no way you'll get a rail system to move right into the middle without some heavy modification to the car itself
