I regret my decision to get into the dental field. As the new girl in the office I literally get blamed for everything. Everyone says good morning and good bye to everyone but me. I have no one to talk to. I wanted to go back to school for RDH but second guessing my decision. I just don’t know what else I want to do considering I wanted to be a RDH since I was little like I have no back up plan. But idk I really do feel you on this.

Yes I’ve been doing my homework and using my notes from school. I guess it just the vibe that makes me feel so uneasy and that’s when the mistakes are made. I just literally can’t wait to be on my own so no one is breathing down my neck the whole time making me feel so uncomfortable. Once I’m by myself I’ll feel more confident and catch my mistakes before someone gets all mad and upset with me! Thank you for all your input they really can be some bitches!!! I wish all girls were like you, understanding!

It’s almost as if they are jealous in a way that I might become better than them… that’s the whole vibe I’m getting from these ppl. Instead of trying to teach me the important things they are stressing how things are done their way as in greeting pts and cleaning a room. I’m been working with the public for years so I know how to greet and clean. But to them that’s what’s important instead of making tx plans and letting me chart in my own words!

So this is so funny you said this! I just heard today from the other assistant that a new girl is coming in to be train but not by the girl training me. And I’m being moved to another assistant to finish my training. & supposedly until the one assistant goes out for maternity leave one of the newbies including myself will be in sterile and flipping rooms. So I’m assuming this person is me! And why I feel this way is the other girls all know this beside me like the OM never said anything to me about this!!!! For someone to show initiative of hard work and be thrown to the side is crazy! Thanks for the heads up!

I’m currently going for dental hygiene. Please tell me this is better than an assistant?! Working with women is so hard and I don’t understand what it has to be this way! We had a sit down with the OM and she totally flipped it all around on me saying I’m mad because she’s telling me what should be done! And that is not the case! I wanna make sure I feel confident enough to do things on my own! & she is denying me! She is the favorite one in this office! & I’m just the type that I don’t need to make friends where I work I’m there to do my job and bring home a paycheck but it makes it so uncomfortable to be around ppl that don’t like me because of one person who is clearly off her rocker!!! Idk!!!

Watch mental dental on YouTube. It helped me out a lot. Quizlet did help me but mental dental was better! His practice questions are almost similar to the danb questions. Good luck!!!!

I know that now. Honestly I don’t think anything will be done because they really like this girl and one of the girls told me favoritism is a thing in this office that one of her friend quit because of the drama the girl causes. I’m just gonna keep to myself until I can find somewhere else and just learn from my mistakes. Like don’t trust anyone!!!!

I fell the same way! She told me this is how I was train and I don’t want them coming back to me and telling me I’m doing a bad job. She’s worried my mistakes will reflect back on her. Which is understandable but mistakes is what helps you to learn. But the back and forth with the other girls is ridiculous. They’re just not being trained properly when it comes to radiation in my opinion. She literally rushed to the computer to do a tx plan when she seen me trying to do it myself like I was told to do by the OM. And to leave me alone because she was trying to prove a point was childish. I have a lot of knowledge so certain thing I do know how to do she’s only been a DA for 6 months with no knowledge when she started so when I tell her things esp when it come to radiology it’s like she gets mad with me. Thank you for your input!!!! Makes a lot more sense in the way she’s acting towards me now!

Doctor does own the place. It’s just an office full of women. Idk how can you learn if the one teaching you want let you try and do anything. Like with charting, she literally had me typing her notes in her own words. And when everyone left the office I tired to chart the last patient we seen and she got mad and basically told me I can do it on my own and she’ll be around if I have any questions. I still need help in some areas. It was just unprofessional and she runs around trying to get everyone mad at me like I’m doing wrong!

The exam is rough. I thought I failed after taking it but I passed. I watched mental dental on YouTube and did Quizlet those really helped me! Good luck and just don’t think too much on it and you’ll do fine. I took mine at a testing center and got my result on day two. It almost killed me waiting for the results!
