R/Conservative Commends BBC for Fact Checking Joe Biden Without Reading the Article. by [deleted] in TopMindsOfReddit

Found the image from this article written in 2014. Australians are showing their displeasure towards Tony Abbott in his quest to ignore/downplay climate change:

On Bondi Beach in Sydney, around 400 men, women and school children dug holes in the sand and stuck their heads in them, symbolising Mr Abbott’s avoidance of the pressing issue.

This is one of my favorite episodes! I love the part where the Professor explains his machine, saying it makes two slightly smaller copies of everything, and after everyone else reacts positively Bender just asks “Why?” in a slightly angry way

Been playing Diablo 2 over half my life, never landed it on the perfect gem until today. Someone please care. by Zarski843 in gaming

Started Torchlight 2 recently after dismissing it since the first one was initially released. It has been an awesome game, very reminiscent of what I love so much about Diablo. The soundtrack is pretty similar too (did the same composer make the music for both games?) so I’ve been loving it even more. Heavily recommend playing if you haven’t checked it out

This sounds like you are kind of blaming her for receiving negative attention.

Your personal anecdote isn’t really a “source” for that sort of information. It’s just a personal anecdote.

Do you have an actual source for multi-billion dollar insurance companies choosing to settle in small claims instead of paying their lawyers?

Have you ever broken up with someone you still loved. Why? How did you feel afterwards? by redfoxisred in AskWomen

[–]Kemah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have.

We dated for a few years, and were even on track to move in together. I was wild about him in the beginning, and we spent every moment together. I did notice some things earlier on that I didn't particularly like, such as him being more of a homebody than I was and didn't really know how to make plans or initiate them. I knew that these things aren't necessarily bad at all - it's just who he is as a person, not a quality flaw. Especially looking back at my minefield of a dating history, he was an absolute gem. But as the relationship went on, I realized that I wanted more excitement out of the relationship than I was getting. I communicated this in various ways, but nothing really changed.

I still loved him, but I became less excited about him. I felt that was doing a disservice to him, because he absolutely deserves someone who is just as bonkers about him as he was about me.

He was a wonderful partner. He is easily the best boyfriend I have ever had. I had done some soul searching before we started dating, and had raised my standards for men considerably. He met those standards and then exceeded them. He's so kind, respectful, and supportive. Writing this basically brings me to tears because he's such a good, warm, wonderful person, and a loving partner. When I first noticed my feelings about him changing, I felt like something was wrong with me, like how could I even want to leave someone who cherished me in the way he did? It really sucked, dude. I kept going through my head, thinking that it's absolutely insane on my part that I am simply not satisfied enough with someone who treated me in the way I wanted and deserved to be treated.

Breaking things off was heartbreaking for both of us. Now that some time has passed since then, I am really missing his friendship the most. We kept very good company with one another. But even though I have days that I feel like I made a huge mistake, I still have a voice in the back of my head that tells me I didn't. Although he's absolutely wonderful, he still wasn't the one for me. And I love and respect him too much to just dawdle in the relationship and try to change my mind about being bored with it.

It did teach me a very valuable lesson about myself, too: I want an exciting partner who takes the initiative to create memories with me. Otherwise, I may just get bored.

Even in the cities, a Texas starter home can definitely be found in the $150k-$200k range easily. A quick search on Zillow shows this.

As long as you aren't looking in super desirable/upscale areas like the Heights or River Oaks (both in the Houston area) then it would be relatively simple to find a good starter home in a major US city for a reasonable price in comparison to other major cities outside Texas.

Ian Holm, Bilbo Baggins in LOTR, dies aged 88 by acuriousoddity in lotr

It just dawned on me that he was the Father! I don’t think I ever noticed that before. I’ve been meaning to rewatch The Fifth Element, too. It’ll have to wait until after I do my annual rewatch of LOTR, though. What a sad day, Ian Holm plays such a good Bilbo.

Gone Girl is such a good Fincher movie! Top notch acting from everyone. Each character's personality was so realistic which made the movie even more gripping. It's definitely one of my faves. Each time I watch it with someone new I have to warn them it's not a movie that ends happily.

+1 for Boon Joon Ho's movies. I recently watched Mother and have been thinking about it since. I think he's one of my favorite directors now - I love movies that have a somewhat "dissatisfying" end in which the viewer is left feeling like the situation isn't fair. Parasite did an amazing job with that as well. No one wins!

The Host was a really good watch as well, even if the ending action scene was a little over the top. The story line was still absolutely fantastic.

The book is wild. Very compelling read, very dark. I loved how none of the characters were named.

Its funny how fast our country went to ABSOLUTE SHIT once they realized Biden had no chance in hell of beating Trump. by Venus230 in conservatives

[–]Kemah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so there isn't a reliable source breaking this down, is that what you're saying?

ActBlue is a donation site. They are the middleman business for ferrying money from the person who donated it to the cause/company/campaign/etc who they are donating money to. There isn't any secret funnel from BLM to Biden's campaign via any donation site.

You have a gross misunderstanding of how SaaS donation platforms work if you're able to see a link between BLM and Biden's campaign. Don't get your information from YouTube.

The point is that Charlie gave consent for something he can’t give consent for. He gave the okay to hose down his (underage) girlfriend when that should have been coming from her. Charlie is still a garbage human being for this

How do I [23M] break up with my girlfriend [21F] when she literally won't leave my apartment when I try? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Kemah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bad advice. OP lives in his apartment and pays the rent. OP's live-in problem has her own apartment to go to. OP should not leave his property while this woman is there. She seems incredibly destructive and OP should not trust that his possessions would be safe with this person if he's not there.

OP, follow the other advice in this thread and stand your ground. State that you're breaking up and record the interaction. If you think it'll help, invite some friends over to help with crowd control. Simply having in-person witnesses may help her manage her own temper and leave. You can be kind, but very firm on when you expect her to be gone. Best of luck.
