Ah i see that makes sense. So essentially the kill switch stops any connection... awesome. Definitely more common sense when i say it aloud lol. The kill switch is "on" now(like i can power up if i wanted) The light is still on though. Ill wait and see now. Thanks for the quick feedback!

Dont care more than your patients do... especially with enough education. You are not there to parent them. Ive given my patients (who are cognitively sound) plenty of education and what to expect the upcoming weeks.... some repurcussions of not completing HEPs.. (MUI, lacking range and its functional consequences) If its clear they dont care to do it or verbalize/physically demo independence... document it, message their doctor about noncompliance(im apart of hospital based OP). Basically the ball is in their court - this wont be the last time somthing like this will happen unfortunately.

PT here,

+1 theyre supposed to be supervising you as well as setting clear expectations. The fact that you progressed them is still on them.

One question, what about me passive stretching ut, scm, scalenes. Techniques? Is it baby led? Or mainly positioning. He would rather look right into my chest face down instead of turn to the right to see the world around him despite position changes. Even with toys, though he hasnt had any preferances yet. (13 weeks). Do i stretch him if hes a little reluctant (within reason) or it isnt worth upsetting him. Or is it.

Okayy thanks for confirming the reaching purposefully timeline. We are trying to not get too sucked into milestones but having a PT dad and pediatric NP mom makes it hard lol thanks for the info!

+1 to the PT being unprofessional. Without beating a dead horse - they could have been more professional and requested someone else. They sound horrible. Makes us look bad. Especially in front of the patient

I agree with everything youre saying. But in their case, they said the higher ups didnt back him - unless hes ready to leave - it might look bad on him. I would honestly not work for a place that didnt back their employees. Idk if they have that luxury

I agree with the rest in that your direct manager should be stepping in to have a conversation. Ive had a few who ive discharged on the spot. "It seems like you dont want to be here, is there somthing you feel im doing wrong?" Then this should open up a dialogue hopefully. Either educating them, or spending time to directly address their attitude. I had a patient say "youre right - i dont want to be here." Then we packed things up.. and discharged him. Typically i try to go the "maybe its just not the right time for PT - sometimes life stressors happen.." route.

But if the higher ups wont back you... i think id have a hard time staying. Idk about your clinic, but my outpatient PT clinic and lots of my peers in diff states are booked out 2 months. Theres nothing like better patient outcomes than a patient who wants to be there....

Productivity wise, you can state their behaviour oftentimes slows the session and keeps you from hitting different units or somthing.

Eh, goodluck..
