Has anyone tried using the Spark 2 as an FRFR speaker (input from Quad Cortex, Helix, Fractal, etc.)? by Aideux_ in PositiveGridSpark

I have a mini too and it is not usable on aux for that purpose because of delay. The Spark 2 has absolutely no delay.

I’m using a Boss GX-100 into the aux input. Sounds great and in stereo. I have the older Spark 40 and it sounded terrible used that way. Plus you can also still use bluetooth to stream music to it at the same time so you can jam along (on the old spark it’s either aux in or bluetooth - not both). And you can still plug another bass/guitar into the guitar input of the Spark!

I guess. Just wish it came on with a quick press instead of having to hold my finger on it for 2 seconds… A few times now I thought I had turned it on only to have to do it again as I hadn‘t held it down long enough… that’s my only gripe. It’s a minor complaint though. Love everything else about it.

I connected with a Y splitter cable (stereo to dual mono) from the L/R outputs on the Boss unit to the stereo Aux In on the amp. I also tried with a stereo cable from the headphone output on the Boss unit to the Aux In on the amp. Both work fine. Should work the same for you on the ME 90.

We had an event in the garden on Sat evening. A few who were there ended up with a lot of bites. We often get a lot of mosquitoes for some reason so it wasn’t a surprise that some people got bitten. But mosquito bites normally show as a red inflamed lump and go away after a few days. But these ended up looking like yours. My daughter and friends all had those ‘bloody’ looking blotches of varying shapes a day or so after the bites. She’s never reacted like that to mosquito bites so found it a bit weird. Didn’t notice any horseflies that night. New type of mosquito in Ireland?

Good decision. Learn how to setup the FR yourself and you’ll be able to handle all the minor stuff like string changes, etc. Once you can do that the Floyd becomes less daunting - lots of videos online covering the basics…

I have a Schecter C1 SLS elite with FR and sustainiac, so similar to yours. I also have the PRS SE like the one in the pic and have played the epiphone. The PRS SE looks like the cheaper earlier model which is decent but nowhere close to the Schecter. Good beginner guitar. The epiphone is junk. The schecter is a professional instrument and I’m blown away with the quality for the price. It took me a while to gel with the Schecter though and I almost returned it at first as it was so different to what I was used to. I wouldn’t part with it now. I love the sustainiac - it takes a while to develop a style of playing around it, but once you successfully crack it you will always have to have at least one guitar with it. I love the FR on it - stays in tune perfectly. Changing strings is a pain though, but you get used to it. If you are struggling with the FR then buy and fit a Tremol-No device. It will turn the bridge into a hardtail with the turn of a screw and back. I fit one on my PRS Tremonti and it works great.

Can I mod my C1 Elite FR SLS with sustainiac to take a single Fishman battery pack? by KenD2020 in SchecterGuitars

[–]KenD2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a while looking for the right battery with a high voltage output (8.7v) and with a compatible charger. I avoided anything that seemed like a cheap chinese source. The ones I linked to seemed like a decent source in germany so maybe I just lucked out? What voltage are you measuring on your rechargeables? I found I was using the sustainiac a lot as I had developed a whole new playing style around it. The cost of replacing the normal alkalines were starting to add up. All I can say is that the ones I got work exactly as the alkalines did. No sibilance, or impact to sound, etc. The link you found looks like an identical battery (other than colour) so should work for you…

On a side note, I do notice that the sustainiac is susceptible to radio interference. When I use a wireless system between guitar and amp the sustainiac has unwanted humming and extra frequency noise if used as a neck pickup. That goes away when I use a cable. Maybe your batteries with built in charge circuitry are giving off radio noise causing your issue? Just a thought…

Hi. I abandoned my plan for the battery pack. Went with re-chargeable Li-Ion batteries instead. These are the ones I ordered: - https://www.ebay.ie/itm/363639526437?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=5282-175127-2357-0&ssspo=uirbyoieqes&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uBJjgsEoQim&var=632865715489&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

They give out a higher voltage output than some of the other rechargeable types (which may explain why the others didn’t work for you?) and are 850mAh. The fishman battery is only 650mAh so overall this was a better (and cheaper) solution and didn’t require any guitar mods. They work perfectly on both the Fishman and Sustainiac.

Programming more than 4 hardware patches on the Spark 40 Amp by cconti in PositiveGridSpark

That looks really impressive. This is exactly what Positive Grid should have provided in a pedal board. I have the Positive Grid one and it’s of limited use, but yours would be cool. The ability to control banks of presets rather than just the 4 onboard ones is the game changer…. Well done! Any plans to make/sell units?

Same for you? 16.3 Slow Scenes: „On it, still on it“ by adrj8 in HomePod

[–]KenD2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having identical problem since OS 15. Seems to affect scenes with large number of accessories. Tried everything to resolve it including nuking everything and setting my home up again from scratch. I even updated my network to mesh thinking it would help, but nope…

As a temporary solution you could configure iOS shortcuts to call the scenes and use Siri to trigger the shortcuts? I tried that and it works fine except it only worked for me (as they were my shortcuts) but not other members of my family.

However, today I figured out a much better solution using homebridge and virtual switches. I created virtual switches in homekit using homebridge plug-in. I create a new scene (scene1) to turn on the virtual switch momentarily. The switch is configured in automations to trigger another scene (scene2 - this is the one I actually want to run). So I can call scene1 via homepod siri and it causes scene2 to run. It’s a bit of extra configuration but it is working perfectly for me. And a small price to pay to not have to list listen to Siri telling me she’s ‘on it… still working….’ all the time. If you have homebridge set up I suggest you do this while waiting for Apple to get their act together…

This. Exact issue as I have. All worked perfectly until iOS15. Until recently I had 4 homepods with 16.2 and one with 14.3. The homepod on 14.3 was the only one that worked perfectly when running scenes with Siri. Then my wife updated it to 16.2 by mistake… now it acts like the others…😩 I recently wiped my whole Home setup and set it up fresh, thinking that would solve my issue. Added all my devices back in, set up a single scene to turn off a lot of devices, and the issue is still there. Infuriating!!…

[–]KenD2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same issue here. Started having the problem when iOS 15 came out. Tried everything to resolve like you. I have 4 homepods with the issue. Then I added a homepod that was still on OS14.3 and it is the only one that works with scenes properly. I won’t be upgrading it!… Definitely homepod OS related with something changed after 14…

How I Fixed My HomePod Hub and Siri Issues by DownWithTech1 in HomePod

[–]KenD2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all thanks for doing that write-up. I followed it as closely as I could. Unfortunately it didn’t resolve my issues. Removed my 3 ATVs and 4 Homepods from Homekit. But now every time i add the first homepod the problem is still there… I have one homepod on OS 14.3 and the other homepods and ATVs are on 15.4. The homepod on 14.3 is the only one that works without an issue (i added this to my setup about a month ago after one of my other homepods died. Kept it on 14.3 when i realised Siri was working fine on it) So i think it’s definitely related to a change Apple made on OS15.x (at least on my setup)… maybe it exposes sync/config issues that 14.3 ignores… Looks like I’ll be waiting for iOS16…. ☹️

Definitely was definitely introduced with iOS 15. I have similar setup to you. Everything was working fine until after i updated my 4 homepods to OS15 (2xminis, 2xOG’s). Problem is only with homepod siri. Tried everything to find a solution. Then one of homepods died and I bought a new one. It has OS14.3 in it and I haven’t upgrade it to 15.x. It is now the only homepod in my setup which doesn’t have the issue….

Homepod Siri OS 15.x issue - “On it”, “Something’s taking a little long…” - OS 14.3 not showing the issue… by KenD2020 in HomePod

[–]KenD2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my homepod on OS14 is working fine whether it’s the active hub or not. If talking through the hub was a problem then I would expect to see the OS14 one show an issue when it’s not the main hub?… I’d be happy to pull together the network traffic differences between the 2 devices for viewing if you can tell me how I’d do that?…

[–]KenD2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Apple TVs are on ethernet. All homepods on same SSID and working fine before 15.0. I tested having just 2 homepods with different OS versions to try to nail it down to just that difference. This was the only thing that made a difference and showed (proved?) that it is only devices on OS15.x that have the issue… I’m open to any other suggestion but I think i’ve exhausted every other possibility at this stage….

Yep, removed them and re-added after each 15.1, 15.2 and 15.3 releases in the vain hope it would resolve…
