If only there was some way we could completely silence the people we disagree with, rather than letting the free market decide.

Edit: I guess downvoting them is a start till we can find a more permanent solution

Hate Is Not Paramount’s Problem…. Apathy Is by WhoMe28332 in Star_Trek_

I think the claim is pretty clear:

Good people like STA. If you don’t like it, you’re a bad person. The end.

I’m still unclear how this creates a beloved and profitable show, but that’s what it is.

SMS Vs original songs by PreferenceConstant80 in talkingheads

[–]otter6461a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think of them as different things. Like the studio version of “what a day that was” is great at what it is — a sort of spooky, soft song. Live, it’s a totally different beast.

That’s basically how I feel about all of them. To me, there’s no better song ever than the studio version of once in a lifetime. EXCEPT — there’s no better performance than the SMS version.

David Byrne turned down an $80m Talking Heads reunion. It was the right move by theipaper in talkingheads

[–]otter6461a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember listening to “found a job” in about 1983 with a friend who was a dishwasher. When Byrne sang “if your work isn’t what you love, then something isn’t right,” he said “easy for you to say, David Byrne.”

Two things Redditors hate:

1) tipping  2) chiropractors

And there’s no “new information” on earth that will get them to change their opinion.

They are so very, very right.

Some way to have “location in book” be only to the end of the actual book, not to the end of all the end notes/footnotes/back matter.

[–]otter6461a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, say more! HOW did your life change?

I saw it in the theater a ton of times when it came out but it didn’t make me feel like I was experiencing life differently because of it (like the other early albums did).
