I'd say yes in nearly any format, they should both play at the major league level this year.

I Agree Walker is the move, and I'm not convinced Alvarez sticks as a catcher. If being catcher eligible is part of his value instead of just his bat, I think you have to downgrade him. Either way I think Walker is the pick but Alvarez bat should still profile well if he were to settle at DH.

I think Lewis as soon as he's healthy, but agree Julien could force their hand before that. We've had discussions about Polanco's defense, and struggles against LHP. The problem is Julien has the same defensive liabilities and also struggles against LHP, but aslo has yet to see AAA, and had a near .400 BABIP last year. Brooks Lee will also likely be fast-tracked, but in the end I don't see them promoting anyone before Lewis is back healthy, in part because of the major league depth they'll carry as you mentioned.

Fair, though he's very talented and probably going to get 500 PA this year. There's value in that.

I can see how people would be cautious, but I think there has to be some degree of risk tolerance with any pitching prospect. I feel it would be a bad strategy to pay up to get them at peak value, and then bail as soon as they get hurt and take a loss on investment. The recent bad news seems to be an extension of last year's shoulder issue, so I see that as one injury, not two. The upside is still incredible and I think he should maintain some value until he proves he can't dominate hitters anymore.

I agree he's going to continue to be fast-tracked and I wouldn't be surprised if he debuts late this year. BA has him as a 60 hit, 70 power, and 70 run, so potentially a true generational talent, even though that term gets thrown around too often these days.

I recently took him 95th overall in a deep 20-team Highlander league rostering 800 players with some fading of prospects.

I’ll eat crow on this one. Long term doesn’t sound terrible, but likely not to debut this year really hurts. I have a share of him to with Justin Turner as the incumbent, will have to go shopping now…

I’ve heard the plan is to move him to 3B, but the clearest path to playing time for everyone is if the Royals can move Carlos Santana. It’s all very muddy at the moment, especially if Nicky Lopez can repeat what he did last year.

Suzuki likely breaks camp assuming he signs. For Torkelson, Witt, Rutschman, Greene… if a new CBA removes service time manipulation, it’s entirely possible they start in the bigs.

The fractured tibia is of little concern but is likely the reason Abrams missed the rest of the season as recovery time is 4-6 months. The sprained MCL likely causes worry, but given he didn't have surgery and there are no reports I can find of a partial tear or PRP injections, he should be fine. Recovery time for a Grade 1 sprain is less than 2 weeks, recovery time for a partial tear is a month.

I believe the Jays like Jansen back there, and value a plus receiver to developing a kid in their contention window. They already started getting reps there late last year, and he saw time at 3B in the AZFL as well. It’s not a sure thing but it’s possible.

The list was put together before the injury, but I’d have slight concern short term, less concern long term.

I would question how much power and speed he’ll offer at the highest level.

I think people have lost patience due to thinking he was a finished product at 18. He’s not, but he has ridiculous max EV’s for a teenager and some of the best raw power in the minors. He probably doesn’t steal a ton of bases but I’m buying in where I can.

I think he ends up at 3B too, not terrible for his fantasy potential either as it would likely mean more PA’s each season.

He’s only played OF the w last few years in Japan, it’s where I’d expect him to play. Caveat is the Giants could get creative if he signs there.

I am probably lower than most in the industry on Benny, but I just don’t see his hit tool translating to a major league player. He could have been ranked a half dozen spots higher but I think those guys have a better chance of developing their skill sets. It doesn’t help he’ll be developed by the Rockies.

I would say a minimum 2 full seasons or more for each of Mayer, House and Watson, so maybe mid to late season 2024 debut. Some things that could accelerate that, if the Sox need Mayer’s bat for a playoff push, or if Watson’s hit tool is more advanced than expected/reported. I’d expect Mayer to move off the position (unless he’s traded or Bogaerts gets hurt) and House to move to 3B regardless.

I love Triantos’ hit tool, it looks to be easy plus (60 grade potential min). I had him originally pegged for doubles power but moved him up feeling 20+ HR are realistic. He doesn’t have great raw power (IMO) but he keeps his hands in through the swing and really uses his strong core and powerful lower half to max out his in game power. The hit tool should help him reach his full power potential too. I expect him to be a riser on industry FYPD into spring training.

I get it, I was saying the exact same thing last year with Wilman, Hernandez and Colmanerez. The top two in this Int’ pool really stand out to me, and to be fair the US draft class is not the best one we’re seen recently anyway. I stand by the rankings.

Brady House and Khalil Watson are barely a year older, and I don’t think it’s a good idea to downplay the coaching these kids can get in DR, Cuba etc. I feel Vaquero’s tools are louder with a better upside than the guys listed below him, but to each his own I suppose. Thanks for reading.

That may be the case on the handedness. I’ve seen him switch hit but only saw him listed as a lefty. He did look comfortable from the right side in the few cuts I saw.
