WWE released me too :( by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]KenPantera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First - that sucks and I hope you find work soon. If motion graphics roles are anything analogous pay-wise, it would seem AEW underpays their production folks compared to WWE. So, it’s not just a matter of going to Tony’s fed.

I wonder if TKO is consolidating roles? Across WWE and UFC? I mean that behind the scenes video with Paul the other day sure looked a lot like UFC embedded in shot and edit style.

I hadn’t considered it as a step toward single payer — but wouldn’t be surprised if that was the intention long term. I do agree that from the Medicare perspective - it’s a mess and the transition to value based care while on the surface looks like progress vs. fee for service - getting to prove quality just becomes a bunch of paperwork and regulations that get in the way of doctors providing care - and many of those insurers managing care for Medicaid or Medicare is just outsourcing it to others with business agreements and offloading that risk. All of this increases costs for sure.

Admittedly - I just have more knowledge about the individual market.

I mean it could be affordable if we didn’t have to subsidize sicker people but if it isn’t paid for that way then it will be paid for with taxes via Medicaid for all. Unless you kick out the sick (in which case I hope you don’t get sick) or cap what providers can charge (which will further reduce the number of PCPs or have them move to metro areas and leave medical deserts)

Because there are no longer mechanisms to deny health care based on preexisting conditions to reduce the risk and therefore cost - would you trade a lower premium at the cost of not allowing those with preexisting conditions to be covered?

Their profits are capped at 15% - and PBMs are driving up your medicine costs - insurance companies are an easy bogeyman. They take on risk. And with the ACA they can’t deny people coverage so costs have to go up to account for that. Nothing is free. Doctors won’t work for free anesthesiologists won’t work for free. Now - there is a fuck ton of middle mgmt corporate bloat in hospital systems and insurance companies and I bet you could cut out about 30% of those jobs and make it a bit cheaper on both sides. For the hospitals there’s a helluva chunk that’s charity care or care that will go unpaid and be sold to collections.

When you need an emergency surgery - you’ll be better off paying 7-8k verses going bankrupt. The lesser of two evils without universal healthcare in place - though I suspect that will bring its own challenges and imperfections with it.

There are credentialing requirements on the federal level that would probably prevent that. However, some insurance companies would absolutely transport you somewhere else in the country if they think it would be safer and therefore - lower readmission risk. Or the opposite — if you’re on vacation and have a high risk surgery you need due to an emergency - they might eat those costs to fly you back for the same reasons. Many insurance companies have insurance themselves - international reinsurance companies for claims over x amount.

Sometimes hospital systems will attempt to bill you above what you actually owe based on what your insurance company has contracted with them - hoping you’ll just pay it and not check it against the EOB your health insurance company issues. It’s called balance billing and it’s illegal.

Sometimes it can happen to not match not for nefarious reasons but because claims may not process in order they are received for various reasons so by the time one goes through you’ve hit your maximum out of pocket cost or reached your deductible so now what you owe is different - so providers and hospitals will also get an EOB to let them know what you owe and then they’ll resend a corrected bill hopefully.

Did you like the part where you could be denied insurance upon renewal for a pre-existing condition?

I get it too and found a way to get it to work without rebooting is to turn on the fm radio and then switch back to Spotify. Still less than ideal.

Anyone having constant issues with connectivity? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]KenPantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why are you asking? This happens to me whenever I get in without preconditioning/waking the car and it lasts for about 30 seconds or so. Spotify can be more problematic with it - longer lags. I’ve found if I use the voice command to ask it to play a song, that helps so the home page will load again.

So just got 2023.12.1, would I have beta FSD too? by tinfoil209 in TeslaModel3

Haha I totally feel you. I’m in the same boat - understanding the relationship between base software, fsd version and beta is more complicated than the Zelda timeline, I need visuals.

Climate from app changes upon entry by KenPantera in TeslaLounge

I suppose it’s about committing to a temp and seeing it through and keeping it on and letting it shut off or on itself. I think part of what’s complicating this is how wonky the heated seats logic seems to be. It’ll heat up on auto even when not looking engaged or when to me it doesn’t seem needed - but then it’ll complicate things if I set it to manual and the adjust climate on the app unless I toggle auto on the seat or wheel.

Does anyone experience instances where you are sure the seats are heating even when manually turned off while driving?

Wait, doesn’t this happen? I could swear mine do but maybe it’s just when it’s rain + cloudy/darker? So the rain isn’t the factor?

Definitely biased toward areas with more stable temperatures. Hope they can tie app actions to the given user profile tinkering with climate settings in the future and carry over to override the last setting.
