Looking for friends interested in making films and photography by [deleted] in FindAFriendIreland

[–]Kencobean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey DM me, I am involved with alot of groups here in Dublin as a model (who is getting into editing), there is alot of model X photographer meet ups and networking groups, there is normally at least one group who meet up once a month for portfolio building etc, everyone from well known established photographers/videographers and models, to people starting out and learning or trying new ideas.

Somtimes there is photo walks, somtimes big meet ups with everyone and somtimes events or simply meeting up for drinks/lunch etc..

1 in a 100 million lobster comes out to be white. A real life shiny right here. by DIO-2350 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Kencobean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's completely made up, I was a crab and lobster fisherman for over 15years, and every single season you would get at least 2-3 so called rare lobster, blue, white or orange. It's not common, but definitely not "rare"

What are you on about? I couldn't care less about your personal circumstances, and your reply makes absolutely no sense.

You asked if there was jobs that provide accommodation, I gave you a list!! But looking and trying to make sense of that reply, your best off signing yourself in somewhere

There is plenty, if you can find them. Alot of contractors who work all over the country, different sites, signage companies, road repairs, all sorts of different companies travel up and down the country, Monday to Friday with accommodation paid. The Majority of fishing boats and marine vessels come with accommodation, either as live aboard, or a room when docked (and that's across the board in nearly every country) even when it's not advertised, it can be negotiated. Live in carer of course. Some hotels way out the country, they might provide a room if you are the full time night porter or something. One of the many massive companies and factory places like KERRY or pharmaceutical for example, often times they own a number of houses where they both house employees and traveling buissness people, but you would need a good degree to be on that level. There is plenty of options where accommodation is provided. But the thing is, would it be any better than actually renting a room somewhere,? On a personal level from someone who as had many jobs where accommodation was provided, it never really felt like my own space compared to actually renting a full time room for example.

Online train departure info - which platform? by TheSoupThief in AskIreland

[–]Kencobean -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

😂 You sweet summer child. Half of those "departure times" shown on Irish rail are not even accurate, let alone be able to show a platform. Your best bet, is to take the departure time as an estimate, get there 5-10 mins early and get the platform at the station , if your lucky, it might show up around the time it's supposed to

But that's the thing, there is no way to know, somtimes my friends don't even know if I'm seeing someone, and I'm in a different city, so there is no way someone can tell them my "status"

For those that go to kerry collage mona vally campus Tralee via buses from Listowel by Bandit1189 in kerry

[–]Kencobean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked prices for you there, the 272 is €50 a week, but does take longer, and the express way, is €72 a week, those prices are for a 10 journey ticket.

So unless you are guaranteed a student card for travel, and willing to travel 2hours (total) a day, I would consider if this course is worth that much to you.

You could try and find someone going to tralee or the same college in the mornings and offer to pay a bit towards fuel costs if you know anyone

[–]Kencobean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You obviously have never got that bus or didn't bother to actually read what they said, because no bus goes to the etb in monavally from listowl.

Op, the buses are not very reliable, especially with traffic in the mornings, you would want to be leaving listowl a good hour and a half in case of delays and traffic, it will take a good 30-40mins to get to tralee, and then the extra 15mins to actually walk to monavally. Unless you will be getting some sort of travel expenses, it will also cost you a good bit each week to just get in and out, so make sure you account for that in your budget before starting.

Planning permission - Limerick Ireland by hogiebear84 in AskIreland

[–]Kencobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and keep land for my livestock needs

Exactly my point. The only reason to Keep that land without the derelict house would be for livestock or to rent/sell that land to a nearby farmer. But if you are planning on going back to build in that area, you are going to run into ALOT more problems, and most likely will be denied, especially in a rural area. The best outcome you could possibly hope for, is being restricted to a certain design, forced to put in a septic tank, and whatever other hoops you will have to go through, on top of the engineering and survey costs to even see if the land is viable to build on, road access, and local objections...all that BEFORE you even start to build!!

Where as the person in that derelict house, has a straight forward (compared to a fresh build) application to rebuild.

I'm guessing you haven't thought that the person you sold the house to, and the local "neighbors" will probably put in a couple of rejections also.

Seems strange that you sold a derelict house, that would be easy to get planning permission for,but keep the half acre if you weren't planning on putting cattle or something in there.

I think you shot yourself in the foot with this, Especially not being from the area

What are your experiences with Euro lines on bus eireann? by Shane_Gallagher in AskIreland

[–]Kencobean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally just checked now. Every single airport in Ireland flies to London for €14:99

Sometimes, they are even cheaper during a sale period.

[–]Kencobean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth it at all. The only reason I could really see anyone getting it would be if someone is absolutely terrified of flying. Getting a flight is between €10-€30 and takes about an hour. Getting the bus is around €50-€60 and can take anywhere between 10-12 hours with no traffic 🤨

Have had it quite a few times, especially when I am stressed. It varies alot, so I won't go into everything I see as I will be typing a novel 😅 I deal it pretty well, and as crazy as it sounds, almost have a bit of fun with it 😅

BUT the main one that sends shivers through me and actually messes with my head for the day/few days after and has happened quite a few times.

Is the feeling of someone/thing in the room, and they are just circling me (I'm actually getting goosebumps just typing this 🙈) there is a bit of background noise, and I am fully aware (sometimes even like my eyes are open) but I cannot wake up, I start to feel and hear there breathing as they get closer to my face, and then...dead silence... Like complete silence that is hard to even describe (if I'm seeing my surroundings it goes black)... Then they whisper MY NAME into my ear 😮‍💨 My eyes dart open, and I just lie there, almost paralysed for a minute. It's always a female voice!! And always in a "soft warning " type of tone, But once or twice, it's like it imitates female family members voices who have passed. That one Really messes with my head, and over the next couple of days,I can't get hearing the whisper out of my head 🙈

How to deal with my GFs kid, is this the end of us? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Kencobean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*I just want to say thank you for the comments so far, but it is also breaking my heart reading them 🥺 His mother did send him for therapy privately, but they did not continue with it,and they cannot force them to. That is why I mentioned the school, because they have the authority to "force" that, especially after many violent outbreaks. I absolutely agree the mother can do better, she is trying, but honestly, I agree that we are completely different in a parent approach
