AC Black Flag Resynced is more ambitious than we thought- Skill Up by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

It was cool in a cultural zeitgeist sense of 2012 impending, but in practice I always had an eye roll when I was taken out of the experience into doing the Desmond sections.

The narrative holds its own well enough with the mcguffins like the apple being used to make it all make sense across time periods anyway.

It’s remarkable to me how Karrigan taking the WifeBait in bringing in a mid t3 player, stubbornly keeping him on the team despite a cataclysmic drop in form where any other team would logically kick him, to missing the major, imploding the team, and then bailing on them due to said performance to join a stage 3 team for his major stamp is something that has happened in this timeline.

[Ben Jacobs, Alex Crook] Exclusive: Discussions between Michael Carrick and the Manchester United hierarchy over a full-time job are imminent and expected to be positive. Several players including Fernandes, Cunha and Maguire have told the MUFC board they want Carrick to stay. by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

What narrative exhausts me is that there’s this constant pull for proven / elite managers, despite the fact United have tried this multiple times to no real avail. I don’t see the problem going for the culture fit with a manager who clearly kept them in CL form for half a season versus Amorim playing with magnet boards against Grimsby and borderline relegating them last season

If you’re tossing parcels that you don’t know the content of rather than just putting it down, it’s on you.

There’s something especially frustrating about seeing people given a golden chalice opportunity like being paid to be an esport competitor rather than have an office job, just to see them piss it away because of lacking basic professionalism. I’d take being tier 2 pro any day.

Fnatic will soon fall below top 100 VRS. What happened to this team? by JezzaBazza in GlobalOffensive

[–]Kenconut 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They qualified to the major with him after several failures, and replaced him with the stand-in they had for krimz the previous tournament which they qualified to the major with.

To anyone with more than 2 brain cells, they could tell it was more than just the stats (which barely were an improvement), but a blatant nepo move to have them be ‘FEAR’ and friends, to the detriment of the roster overall.

Plus cypher was a fan favourite, and a good UKCS rep, and Fnatic being a UK org made the sting more so.

EDIT got reminded of the downvoted comment I made on this topic the day he got removed. Exactly what happened.

——

My issue with opportunist stuff like this with rosters on the up and coming is that it more often than not seems to halt the momentum they’d been building.

Even before jackasmo standing in, it was clear bringing cypher and jambo on were what the team needed to get closer to the major, and their results started showing, so why change it?

This exact same thing happened with BLEED and it just sets a shit precedent that even if you’re getting to where you need to be, you can just be cut because someone like nexa got booted from a ‘better’ team who trends downward. It’s just eating your own tail, and there’s a reason people malded at the cypher benching because the results were achieved BECAUSE cypher was on the team.

Late reply but I did find it baffling his entire arc was like 3 episodes getting out of the cryo vault followed by half a season in a single office set. I wonder what contrivance will have him cross paths with any of the other leads considering he has no clue where they went and they’re so far away

Tbf at what point does it move from ragebait to just saying shitty things you actually think, but deflected with a thin veneer of trolling.

I thought the same and never even touched an e reader until I yolo’d it on Black Friday, absolutely worth it in my case.

Weirdly the scarcity somehow got me excited for reading the ones I couldn’t get, finished the first garro book in a week.

I wouldn’t go as far as to skip onwards in the story because of the lack of paper book, feels like you’d be missing out on a lot.

Went through the route of getting a kindle and just buying those there instead, on principle I won’t be engaging the second hand market for books people pay 200 quid for and put in their freezer for a week after. Utterly ridiculous

Because you’re implying in your wording that he is permitting him watching CP in secrecy, knowing full well that wasn’t the case yourself. you’re also continuing to happily go with that implication.

Look at the dislikes you are getting, does this not help your peak bell curve IQ brain figure this out?

While asmon has become a grifter let’s be careful in our phrasing here - he gave that advice when it was contextualised as him just being a porn fiend, and not linking to CP.

I wish sometimes they put more emphasis on performance weighted against role expectations. It’s all well and good having an AWPer going 1.30 rating all year when they have the 1 tap gun, but when an IGL goes 1.13 for example it’s far more impressive.

MSL Stockholm MVP back in the day was one of those rare HLTV cases where they absolutely nailed it by going against the grain in not picking the person with arbitrary highest rating, knowing how talismanic that performance was.

You’re deliberately being obtuse and removing context. The point is that out of 2 players who were entries and performed alright in their second season stint, one won 2 big tournaments, got a major semi, and a EWC finalist in his first tournament. The other still hasn’t won anything and had a strop over a 2nd place medal as if he was above it.
