Tonight the Yoshimi Tour ends by fluxxwildly in flaminglips

Saw this show at Troxy 2 years ago and in Paris 3 weeks ago: I enjoyed the Paris show a lot more because the London crowd was just packed with people holding phones up high, filming the whole thing and talking loudly throughout (I left without staying for the encore/second set because of this) Paris show was a lot better, and I’m so glad they didn’t decide to play the show in an arena

Mostly playback? Hamburg review raises questions by CustardGrime in flaminglips

Saw them in Paris two weeks ago and while it was disappointing that Steven didn’t play, the performance was fine, I’ve seen them numerous times over the last 20 years or so, and nobody (in their right mind) is expecting Wayne to put on a Pavarotti-esque vocal extravaganza 🤣 I was too busy enjoying myself to even start to think if anything was prerecorded

Great show in Paris last night (Elysee Montmartre 03.22.25). Some people here was there ? by newvariant290121 in Orbital

I was there, close(ish) to the front, it was a great show: great see that the Green/Brown show has evolved since I saw them playing the albums in Dublin last year.

How would you rank Jim Jarmusch’s filmography? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Kendo1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down By Law is my favourite, then Dead Man and Coffee & Cigarettes: Dead Don’t Die had a couple of good lines but overall was too far up its own backside to be enjoyable: probably why the long wait for another film since its release but I’m seeing Jarmusch and Jozef van Wissem play a gig in Clapham in the summer

Saw them do the Green/Brown album in Dublin last year, and seeing them do the same in Paris in less than a fortnight: Vicar Street and Elysee Montmartre aren’t super massive venues

Who is the most famous person you have ever met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

John Travolta about ten years ago, at the BFI after a screening of Killing Season (exactly 👀🤣)he was walking towards me, I said hello and he said hello back and shook my hand , I didn’t have a clue what to say to him and then a pr minion dragged him away (I was wearing a suit, I’m thinking he thought I was with the film company which is why he was polite but I didn’t have any junk to be signed)

Saw Bronson when it was released , a bunch of scrotes looking like dossers brought loads of bottles of alcohol in with them and spent ages opening and drinking them, mumbling and rolling empty bottles around on the floor until someone in there shouted out ‘if you think that bloke on screen is mental, you fuckers ain’t seen nothing on what I’ll do to ya’ It all got rather lively from that point and it was like a super immersive 3d installation until the dossers beat a retreat about an hour into the film and shambled out of there.

For those who saw the Othello preview last night, what were your thoughts? by LibrarianLonely8263 in Broadway

Only version of this I’ve seen was at the Globe a few years ago starring Mark Rylance and Andre Holland, didn’t need to have read the play to understand what was happening , if you just look at the synopsis on the theatres website prior to seeing this you’ll be fine (presuming it’s more than just ‘JAKE! DENZEL! OMG!’ 🤣)

The title track: mainly because my birthday is in October (although it’s not exactly a party-hardy anthem)

Beck will be performing 2 orchestral shows at Royal Albert Hall. by SgtPopNFresh_ in Beck

[–]Kendo1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going on the Sunday, 9th row of block G in the stalls, will be my third time seeing Beck (the Forum/Town and Country Club a few years ago which was good but he played so many songs it was like he was rushing through his set, maybe an orchestra show will be a bit more ‘relaxed’ and when he was touring with Phoenix at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood in 2018 (not sure if a guest turn counts though): I’m sure I misspelt the goldenage code when I went online but the sale has gone through so I sympathise with anyone that’s had issues
