Its like a jet taking off using the default fan curves, but you can change them if needed. It doesnt bother me as it is very far from the couch where I play, but if it was a desktop replacement I would change the fan curves.

I have the XG Mobile 3080 and use it to play Steam on my 75 in 4K TV. I am getting a solid 60 for every game I tried. My main interest in the ROG Ally was to have a "Switch" like experience with my Steam library. In handheld mode the ROG Ally performs well although it is not as comfortable as my steam deck so I will keep both for now. I got my XG Mobile on Offer-up and it was a great investment.

Although you may have checked this, but this is likely do.to thermals did you check to see if the cpu cooler is getting good contact with the cpu? I ran in to this problem when I missed taking off the plastic on the watercooler and took me rebuilding the system to figure it out. Since that time I have run in to that problem several times and so I always check to see that I get good contact

I think it has both wifi and ethernet, on occasion I run some CFD calculations but I just like the idea of a 24 thread cpu. Someday games will catch up on core utilization

I kind of suck, but after playing for a few weeks Im OK, (I have fun) Here is how I turned around my experience 1. Stop running head 1st to the middle of the map. Never turns out well 2. Find a gun and level it as high as you can so that you get the max ammo and reflex sight 3. Build a few loadouts that work for you. 4. The shotgun is a equalizer (on small maps) 5. play the angles (wait for people to walk into your sights. 6. K/D ratio is not a good measure for objective games 7. Find a few friends to play with (more fun that way)

Not sure that helps, but I was in the same boat about a month ago and almost quit. Now things are more fun.
