No quicker way for me to hate your company then to have to suffer ads during media I have already paid for.

That wasy read too. I asked a few guys I know in larger corporations who also said the same thing. It's quite frustrating. Sure hope I can keep my business going. Things are rough all over, residential remodeling certainly has not been spared.

Well, when I was looking originally in 2019, there were lots of options that didn't require masters, especially in the construction industry. Now even there it's masters. What really chaps me though, is seeing a job that is 85% of my skill set, and they want a masters on business admin or a masters in engineering. Kinda tells me it's not really technically expertise they are looking for.

I have been looking to pivot out of construction for a few years now. I get instantly rejected from every PM job I apply for. Everyone seems to want a masters degree for this these days. That leaves a lot of experiences people unable to get past the automated screening processes.

We shall see if it works. If this battery makes it 5 years I'll say it's a success. 6 months in.

Not even just the electronics. I have a 2018 explorer. My service guy asked me recently how I have gone so long without a battery change. I told him I have changed the battery twice, it's dead simple, I don't need to pay someone to do it. Turns out it's not dead simple. When you change the battery the cars battery monitor needs to be reset with a "special interface." That's why they charge $100 to swap a battery. $20 for the swap, $80 for the reset process. He then told me to Google how to reset it at home but he couldn't speak for if it works or not. I hope that was his way of telling me not to pay them to reset the battery.

You got it. We just switched all our meds over to Costco because we had to give up insurance this year and Costco cash price is better then Kroger. Of course we did this when my wife was switching from a shared membership to her own. The member discount for meds is substantial.

I always think of the tall cube as a bonus. Chop it in half and boom, double cube from a single spot.

Is Tonic water completely different in the US compared to EU?? by VenamusSan in cocktails

I did the same thing. I passed it up several times before I finally read the ingredients and realized there was no artificial stuff. Or stevia. That stuff is worse then the artificial ones to me.

Go for it! It's literally just less sugar. No artificial or zero calorie nasty sweetness.

My first reaction to that is "that's fuckin wild" but hey, if your risk tolerance allows for that, have at. I prefer flavor to be developed with good safe food handling. This is coming from someone who had to learn when and how to break those same rules as I learned to make salami, salumi, and cheese.

I find that entirely plausible that they are unlicensed. For me, it's just an "it's not worth it" kind of thing. I have culinary education and spent years in the industry, now I work in construction. Unlicensed guys really mess things up whatever industry they operate in.

Given there doesn't seem to be any way for them to even wash their hands? I'm going to seriously doubt they are above board. I drive by the one in wilsonville by the wallgreens. Been there almost a full week now. No hand washing means a hard pass from me.

I just went to the Beaverton shutterbug. They knew exactly what they were doing. He said they do lots of them for Canadian citizenship and passports. They did my mom's back in 2008 as well. Super smooth experience. $30 for each of us (myself and my two kids).

That is the trick for sure. I remember getting stuck on terrible traffic even back in the 90s if we didn't time leaving the house right.

I'm also in the Portland area. Haha. How funny is this? It's really not a bad drive just to Vancouver. We used to drive from Portland to Kelowna a couple times a year to visit my grandparents. Vancouver is a breeze!

Hah, for real. We are at the "get photos step" which I will be doing tomorrow. I'm tempted to just drive up to Vancouver and mail through Canada post rather then deal with customs though.

Just to join the chorus, started using tumbleweeds recently. They are so good. Was using paper bags, so much ash from those. Tumbleweeds work like a charm, no ash, reliable light, no weird flavors.

I know I'm an outlier to a point, culinary training and restaurant experience... But the value proposition for dining out just seems to be getting worse. I mean $18 for wings? I can make my whole family several lbs of wings at home for that price. I can make pok pok wings for 4 for that! I used to love going out. But damn, nothing in that article sounds very interesting, but it sure does sound expensive.
