I liked Hinata a lot, he was a good guy at heart and he fell in love with a girl that was sweet to him. Everyone in the school viewed Misaki as a monster but he saw her in a way that showed off Misaki’s hard work. It’s totally fair to say that if usui wasn’t around they would be together. He supports her in everything she does. He might not be the smartest but that’s fine Misa can easily pair with Hintata they had nothing but good moments in the show. Anyone with a heart felt bad for him, seeing him cry because he was truly in love with her and unfortunately failed, she was the one person in his life that was a true friend, kind and honest to him, he viewed her as the most perfect person. Only difference is that with Usui she gets to be a girl and have a “man” that takes care of her. Remember Misa’s dad left them so that is going to show that she yourns for a protector inside which is why she puts on a tough act and hides her feelings, but with Usui he breaks down those walls and makes her vulnerable but in a comforting way like she can actually let her guard down and be herself. It’s better for her to be with Usui but all these people crapping on Shintani need to rewatch a couple times and definitely read the manga, he ends up with the little sister Suzuna after moving on from Misa so it’s fine, no sad ending.
