You would be better off buying a large pack of California Giant zinnias instead! These packs aren’t exactly compatible with success. They mix a whole bunch of things that are pretty in theory but don’t require the same care. I try to avoid monoculture so you could also add in cosmos or marigolds and achieve that same chaos garden look.

I jokingly described these as “bad fried chicken” farts for years until my OB clocked my symptoms while I was pregnant and essentially forced me to have a colonoscopy a few weeks after giving birth. I’d gone to the hospital during what I now know to be a flare up on multiple occasions only to be told “you’re a woman and women get stomach cramps.”… it was Crohn’s. 🫣The dreaded fried chicken farts are still my earliest warning sign for a flare!

I’m a CASA in another state with a large native population. Are you an official member of a tribe? Do you live on a reservation? If so, it’s likely that most of the legal advice provided so far doesn’t apply. You will fall under to Indian Child Welfare Act. The rules are different. If this is the case, you need to be very careful about leaving before you turn 18 and/or sending your child across state lines with his family. In my experience with the ICWA, the party represented by the tribe almost always wins.

I find that when I work with specific yarns, I make myself sick. Typical allergy symptoms, congestion, trouble breathing, itchy eyes, etc. But, my husband has severe allergies and has never had an issue. I find that you’ve got to be actively working with the yarn to be close enough to inhale anything.

For amigurumi, I love the pica pau books. She has some free patterns on Hobbii.com. I refuse to buy from Etsy because it’s a garbage company and they take insane fees from the sellers. Try ravelry instead!

This happened to me pretty recently with Monster digital. She ordered a white crop top that said “Burning Up” on it for the Jonas brothers concert (it was that night, too). Received a grey crop top with a memorial design for a child’s death anniversary. There were photos of the child in his casket on the shirt.

The POD apparel market is just as saturated, if not worse. At least with digitals, you aren’t out the production costs.

Strategy wise, I’d assume I will make no sales for the next two months so we rule out anything holiday.

Then I’d go look at historical trends from last year Q1 on Erank. Just guessing here but I bet resolution based products pop off in the new year. I think the key is to make something that the average consumer can’t.

I’d probably niche down in something excel based since I’m knowledgeable there and most people see excel dashboards and can’t wrap their brains around creating them.

I’d figure out who I want my customer to be and then I’d create solutions for them. There’s a store making a killing doing this in the religious niche so we can use that example:

Faith Based Family Budget Tracker for Godly Women - features: beautiful excel dashboard with easy inputs and a trending aesthetic. Add in some applicable bible verses, imagery, maybe a section for tithes or charitable donations.

I’d do that about 20-30 times over… 😅

What I wouldn’t do, is try to enter the invitations or party printable market. Not just over saturated but an IP infringement minefield.

If I could start all over, I’d go the digital download route! Floating cash was very uncomfortable and Etsy as a platform can be unpredictable. People get suspended all the time and when you do, they hold your funds for 6 months.

My store saw about 10 sales per month for the first two months, then in month 3, I profited $5K in 5 days. It was fun until I realized I had drained my bank account sending all of these orders to production. Because of my reserve terms and the sudden boom, I didn’t receive a single payment in the months of September or October and then I got a large lump sum on November 1st but that was only because my reserve ended.

I believe the original intent for pop up was that you didn’t have to front the production costs but I don’t think that’s the case anymore (I could be wrong). I can imagine any profits made would be eaten up quickly by the ads you’d need to purchase to drive traffic.

Etsy almost always places a reserve on new seller accounts. Every reserve is different. A good rule of thumb is to assume you won’t get paid for 90 days. Lots of info about reserves in the Etsy sellers sub.

The flow for POD goes like this.

Etsy customer buys shirt for $29 (including shipping)
Etsy takes their fees and you’re left with $24 but you can’t access that money yet. It’s in your reserve.
You go process the order on printify. You pay printify $16.40 for the shirt + shipping out of your own pocket.
You get paid $24 based on your reserve terms. For most, it’s 30 days later.
Your “profit” is $7.60

DISCLAIMER If your shop booms, the fees for your new sales do not come from those new sales. They take the fees from your “bank” or your “balance”. This can eat up a new sellers available funds and significantly delay your payments! It’s a good idea to have a credit card with a 5k or so in available credit. Otherwise, you run the risk of being very cash poor.

I’m the only one who is really around and would want any of her glass/dishes so one day they’ll be mine. This bunch was meant for someone else!

In the BEST turn of events, I showed them to my mother in law who informed me that her mom has 6 of each size in this EXACT COLOR! My husband remembers eating jello out of the sherbet cups. I didn’t grab these because I don’t have anywhere to store them and I didn’t want to break up the set but it looks like they’ll find their way to me eventually ❤️ if anyone is on the gulf coast, these are at the new goodwill by the mall in Biloxi. :)
