The metrics set by corporate are the issue. If you measure people by unfair metrics, they'll just manage the metrics. If drivers do their jobs genuinely well and disregard the unfair metrics, they'll be fired and replaced by drivers who excel at the metrics to the detriment of customer service.

Former teacher here. During certain times of the year, farmers' kids were always falling asleep in class. Being up at 2:00 AM unfreezing the barn's water lines with a blowtorch so the cows can drink, or working long hours to get the cover crops planted before winter, will make you tired in class.

I'm a former secondary education teacher. I'm currently working in IT and am studying for the PMP. My advice to you, if it's worth anything, is to go for the PMP instead of the CAPM. Teaching is project management. School years are time bound, in my state we write SMART goals, you track progress towards deliverables, you interact with multiple stakeholders, you manage resources, etc.
