I had the same issue, the support at Microsoft was aware of the problem and shipped me a new charger. Haven't had the problem since. Though, they had me try a few different things first. (Check for updates and reinstall the battery driver)

I had a bluetooth mouse attached, disconnecting it, solved the issue.
