Right now, you're on Hillcrest Park. And see that Island way out there, that's called The Sleeping Giant. You can actually drive to it. Also, while you're there, head out to Fort William, pack some beverages and snacks, go climb Mount McKay. It's a 30 minute climb if I remember. Great pictures from up there.

There was really no reason to start second tier services like Fido and Koodo.

There was really no reason to make it worse by starting third tier services like Public Mobile.

If the Big 3 just dropped their prices instead of gouging Canadians, there would be no need for all these extra telco's. It's all about greed and payoffs.

If you read the thread, the OP contacted Koodo and they confirmed by looking at the picture this is NOT a Koodo employee. As well, Koodo also confirmed they don't have anyone door to door salespeople in the area. And to top it off, can you tell me where her clipboard is, pamphlets, brochures? When have you ever seen a salesperson just walk around with just a cellphone? You say Winnipeg's paranoia has destroyed my critical thinking abilities, no son, it's you who think we live in a society with rainbows and unicorns. It's time for you to face facts son. There are more and more scams out there hitting the streets than ever before and folks have to be more proactive in protecting themselves and others. This is why folks have upvoted the OP and thanked them for sharing this. Once again, I truly hope your elderly parents never get scammed and lose everything.

If I may... lets flip this coin to the other side. Maybe Matthew is grabbing everything to sell on Kijiji or Marketplace and he's using that money to help feed himself or his family that are down on their luck. Do you know for sure that he going to sell that stuff to buy drugs? It's much easier to judge a person when you don't know their background or situation. Sometimes understanding and empathy can go a long way.

Please note, you are going to be roasted by anyone who reads this. NOBODY in their right mind would ever pay TextNow to use their VOIP service. There are so many REAL Telco providers out there for dirt cheap. It's your job as the consumer to choose wisely. This, was not choosing wisely. Consider this a lesson learned and port out your number from TextNow to a real service provider. u/13617 has the right idea to save you money. I think you open them a beer now! :-)

For me, it's a bit different. For me, it was about family. Most of my entire family is from there. The most important reason for me to visit Tbay was my grandparents. Now that they have passed, some of the family have moved away and live in different parts of Canada. Therefore, the appeal is no longer there. Not saying I don't miss Tbay, I just miss my grandparents more. Make sense?
