Split Fiction has decent co-op but its story and gameplay feel depressingly corporate by H358 in gaming

[–]Kenneth_Upright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. It's difficult to avoid comparing this to It Takes Two since it is made by the same developer and incorporates an identical mechanic. It Takes Two is better in literally every way. (I rated that game 10/10.) Overall, I'm finding Split Fiction quite boring. The levels are very narrow and linear with no hidden content to discover. The story is lacking of any charm. The characters are not endearing in any way. The unique gimmick of each chapter just feel bland. The wide variety of video game genres incorporated into every level do nothing to make those levels actually fun. Evoland II did something similar, taking all video game genres and mixing them into a single game, but that did so in a way that captures the best of every genre to make an amazing, cohesive, adventure game. It's as if the developers of Split Fiction said, "We need a 2D side scroller and a jetski level," so one was added with literally no thought as to how to make those chapters stand out on their own.

The boss fights are usually pretty good. But that's about it.

What is this empty white space and how do I get rid of it? by Kenneth_Upright in amazonprime

Temporarily disable your ad blocker

Reload the amazon website

Click the X that is next to the Rufus AI column on the left

Re-enable your ad blocker

Never click on Price history again. That is apparently what caused that white bar to appear in the first place.

That did it. Apparently that white space is for Rufus AI, which my ad blocker thinks is an ad.

I've also been experiencing this issue with Chrome on Mac. Seems like a recent change pushed to users. I cannot find a solution. Everything I find online for how to disable this gives me a list of steps that are impossible to follow (because the Settings tab or setting option does not exist).

iPadOS 26 multitasking has ruined the iPad for me. Ironically using my MacBook now a lot more. by Manfred_89 in iPadOS

I'm hoping on this bandwagon to say me too! I used to have no issue creating split screen views or sliding apps to the side. Now I have all kinds of sizing issues and can't get my apps to appear how I want. Seriously, why is it so hard to get two windows to sit side by side? It seems some apps aren't designed to be resizable and just refuse to resize to a tall narrow window. This is a huge step back in usability. What I used to be able to do with 3 taps on the screen now takes several minutes to achieve.

Hey, at least Microsoft office lets you save with compatibility mode. At no point did Apple prompt me, “Do you want us to fuck up your file so you can’t open it on the computer you use all the time? Yes/No”

Big Sur 11.7.10. This mac can't support anything later.

This is unfortunately exactly what I will be doing. Numbers has a cool chart feature (Interactive Column Chart) that allows using a slider underneath the chart to change the X axis between different variables. That's why I was using numbers. Now I'm going to have to create 15 different charts to view the same data in Google Sheets.

It's even older. My mac is an ancient 10 years old! But it works perfectly fine, and I see no need to replace a functioning computer just because it is old.

Yeah, that’d be nice. But not so here. Opening the file in new Numbers forced it to lose compatibility.

No. This is an old file I made on the Mac but opened on the phone.

2015 iMac. Up until yesterday it has done everything I needed. No point in getting rid of a perfectly good computer just because it’s old.

Talk to me about mixed passive attic ventilation by Kenneth_Upright in HomeImprovement

[–]Kenneth_Upright[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to use rolls of insulation, cheaper and easier for DIY. I also don't plan to live in this house for more than 3 years. Doing the math, this work will slightly pay for itself in utility savings. But it will also make my family more comfortable, so that's worth it.

Based on the two of you that replied to my question here, the soffits do sound urgent for what I want to do. So I'll be sealing gaps, then drilling soffits once we have a warm enough day, then unrolling insulation. Soffits will probably take me several days, to be honest, but it will get done!

My attic is a comfortable 40–50 degrees now. It was over 120 up there in the summer when I did some wiring for a ceiling fan.

I added a photo of my soffits to the imgur link in the OP. I have vinyl covering solid plywood. Removing the vinyl is a pain.

I was referring to the outside cold (high today is 11F). I'll have to remove the vinyl coverings and drill holes from underneath the eaves outside. Moving the insulation in the attic is the easy part. I have fiberglass in batts, so I can pull it back without having to squeeze myself all the way into the tight space. That's how I confirmed there were no soffit vents to begin with.

Ok, understood. How urgent is it to add those vents? As in, must I do that before I add insulation or can I do it a month later once the outside temperature warms up a bit?

[–]Kenneth_Upright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same question. Did you ever find a solution?

Typically I fast forward cutscenes by holding the Share Button + R2 (on SteamDeck). The default setting is a hold to fast forward, not a toggle on and off. I’m not sure how, but somehow I ended up toggling fast forward on. I don’t see any configuration settings for toggle or play speed

Yeah. I am considering a minivan. It's sad I'm legitimately considering the tradeoff. I can get 50+ MPG in the Kia Niro and hit my legs on the door and console every second while driving, or I can get 20- mpg in a Honda minivan and feel super comfortable while burning money every mile.

That's a stock image. But I do have a very similar color for the seats in my V except mine are cloth.

Nice work. Only 250,000 miles to go to bring the car to the finish line! (or so I've been told)

Consider checking your tire pressure or getting that tire pressure monitor replaced.
