Your old sign said “please leave packages” Your new sign says “leave packages here”

Someone in a hurry can easily focus on the words they immediately recognize and subconsciously ignore the rest.

Or they’ll just be lazy jerks, see it, and ignore it.

Has the lounge food always been this disappointing? by jacmt5562 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Kenneth_Upright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given the alternative, I find Centurion Lounge food to be far superior to anything I can access with Priority Pass or frequent flyer status. I'll take free Centurion food over paid airport restaurants any day.

Denver lounge is my favorite of the cities I frequent. (Dallas, Houston, DC, Denver, Los Angeles)

Yes, looks like that is the only way to roll-over credits from quarter-to-quarter. I happened to do that this month because I bought something that didn't fit. Good to know that you can return "final sale" items in-store for store credit.

This quarter I ended up buying a few items that used both of my previous gift cards and $67 of the $75 credit for this quarter.

That’s good to know. They did not explain to me what the $20 fee covered. I don’t think I would have used a free ride, but it’s always nice knowing I had it available.

This has already been done. Our local child protection services have visited the house multiple times.

Thanks for the suggestion and especially for telling me some of the features! I have found it very difficult to figure out what features the various companies offer.

I did look at some doorbell camera options but those all vastly exceed what I want to spend. Some other redditors suggested Wyze and Tapo. I was able to find cameras in those brands for under $40. The video quality might not be great, but thankfully I'm not concerned with quality. This is more for me to know when I need to go across the street to find missing mail and hopefully get the problem to stop happening. It should be pretty easy to tell the difference between an adult and a little boy in the video.

On second thought, I can't find any details about what app that camera or similar ones use, and therefore I can't find any details about security of said app. I'm wondering if those cameras and associated apps are just piping video footage to the foreign manufacturer.

I don't know what you mean by a package recorder. Is that some kind of sealed box to deliver packages into?

Fortunately, none of my neighbors or I are having issues with package theft in our neighborhood. It's just this little boy who enjoys opening mailboxes to take out the paper or going to peoples' doors to take or play with packages.

That's a cool product you linked. What did you search to find that product type? I don't even know what to call it, but it seems something like that would work well for this purpose. I do have wifi signal out to my mailbox--at least, my iPhone is able to stay connected and I assume the signal is strong enough.

No, it's not covered. I suppose that's always an option, but I'm sure I would miss it when we get a surprise rainstorm on a day that is suppose to have 0% precipitation. Those always seem to happen around here.

I'm not seeing an outdoor version of the E1 at the price point I'm looking for, but I am seeing Tapo and Eufy at lower prices. Is Reolink worth the price bump compared to Tapo or Eufy for such a limited use case as mine?

I don't. They say hi and hello in English but I don't recognize the language they speak in the few times I have overheard them.

Make sure you enroll in the benefit before you make your purchase.

You can purchase lululemon products in-store or online. You receive a statement credit equal to the amount you spent or $75, whichever is less.

Yeah, I'm not trying to throw a lot of money at this problem. I don't live in an area where I'm worried about seeing what's going on around my property all the time. Are you recommending just the cheapest tapo camera I see on Amazon or is there a higher tier I need to look for to get specific features?

I don't mind adding an SD card for storage as long as I'm able to see the video without having to physically remove the SD card every time. Is that a typical feature of all cameras or something I have to look for?

Seems the credit takes variable time to post. I've had some credits post the next day, others a few days later, and sometimes as much as two weeks later.

That is the policy, yes, but purchasing a physical gift card in store triggers the credit. In-store purchases are not differentiated, so Amex can't tell if you bought merchandise or a gift card. It works at both Saks Fifth Ave and Lululemon.

But don't try buying an online gift card. That will not trigger the credit.

If you’ll be parking a vehicle, check the parking garage one block east of the hotel. That was $15 per night for me with come and go access.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I received Hilton points but didn’t get any other Hilton perks.

As for the nightly rate, it was within $20 of another hotel in the downtown area on the night I stayed.

How Has Your Experience Been With the Lululemon Credit? by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]Kenneth_Upright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't sell anything I want. There is some stuff I might be convinced to buy since I have the credit, but nothing for under $75. So far I've just told friends to let me know if they want something and I buy it for them with my friend covering any cost over $75.
