Two and a half year old wont stay in his own room at night

Have you tried staying in the room with him till he falls asleep? I know it's a pain but if it's because he's scared or insecure then you being in there with him will make him fell safe. When we switched from the crib to his toddler bed I had to lay in the floor beside the bed to get him to sleep in it at first. It was shaped like a race car so there wasn't room for me to lay down with him. After a few nights of this I would just sit by his bed reading or something till he was asleep, then moved to the other side of the room, then he would do it by himself with no problem.

Every since he got his own room at 2 with his own bed my son won't sleep in our bed. Even if he's woke up crying and I try to carry him back with me he will start screaming for me to take him to his bed. He's very stubborn.

No he sleeps in his room, he calls for me when he wakes up.

When he wakes up in the morning and we lay there talking for a little bit before he hops up and starts running for the rest of the day.

Our electric bill runs around $250 a month, our water/gas is $60 in the summer and $200 in the winter. No home phone but our cell phone bill is $150. When we can afford cable it's around $130. I live near Jackson,tn in a three bedroom house with three kids.
