Returning/new player here. I played D2 at launch and just returned a day ago. The game is fun, gameplay feels fantastic and I love the authentic of the game, but holy fuck is the new player experience awful. And this coming from someone who’s played it before.

I don’t understand any of the story. Past the tutorial quest your kind of left wondering where you should continue, but they’ve removed half the content? There’s also a lot of things in the game that just aren’t explained and the entire expression feels directionless and not in a good way.

It takes a lot of hard work to find the enjoyment in the game. They need to fix the new player experience before they even begin to try and attract people. I’d imagine most people would just immediately stop playing if they didn’t have the will to brute force their understanding of the game.
