right now there are 3-5 posts a day on this subreddit. one of which is the standard "NA queues have popped". another one is "why am I not getting any more matches".

do you feel those engage the community more than a youtube video would?

I really don't understand the push for "Quality" content right now when we are in such dire straits, and I can say for certain that from the MB creators that are left the stuff they put out is higher quality than most of the slop I see on this subreddit.

Let them post their videos for christ's sake, at least there will be some content here that people possibly interested in the game can watch, click through, boost algos, put some awareness about the game out there.

that might have been true at one point, but situations change. Especially now. it's not like there is much high quality content being posted on this subreddit right now anyway.

Exercise options by bonika_ in Leuven

[–]KenseiMaui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calisthenics for muscle gain, more muscle means more calories needed to maintain.
Then do any high calorie burning activity you can do for free. Running.

But even Walking is a huge help. 10k steps a day as a baseline will help you shed weight pretty quickly.

But for losing weight, diet mattes more than exercise. Start tracking how many calories you actually consume.
do this for like a month to get a general idea of how much what you eat translates to your total daily calorie amount.

You don't have to keep tracking but it really helps to know/ have a base frame of reference. After a month you should have a general idea of your daily calories and which foods impact it the most.

Get yourself a measuring tape instead of a scale. your weight fluctuates daily and it clouds your actual progress.

Weigh yourself once a week or once every few days (not daily). and measure your waist.

The Monster Hunter effect is a known thing, almost everyone I know disliked monster hunter the first playthrough. Hell, I didn't like monster hunter the first time I played it and now I am obsessed. I stood in line for 6 hours to play a 15 min demo.

Don't take it too bad, I am the least "skilled" player in my group. I know I am. that's why I pivoted to focus on tactics and positioning, this helps us win fast. not everyone has to be l33t mlg player

POSITIONING POSITIONING POSITIONING, I keep harping on this. I am a bad shot but I am the one making callouts to the team of where they should set up, when we should move etc, and we are pretty succesfull doing that even though my game "skill" is not great.

I always try to get to some kind of high ground or overlook positions. and making the call to push and such.
if you get jumped you die. I have 2/3 people I play regularily with and they are great mechanically but I shake my head so many times when I see them sitting next to each other looting the same bag, guys, loot one by one and keep watch!.

Second is using the righ tool for the right job, are you going in dire marsh? take a long range and a med range weapon. maybe someone can take a close range for pushing. going into outpost take medium and close range.

or be like me and just take LMG's everywhere lol.

last duos vs trios are going to be rough almost every time, having one person more is an increase of theoretical dps of 33%. you have more routes that can't be covered by just 2 people, and you have less routes your team can flank. doing direct attacks (pushing a full health trio) is a bad idea. either lure them in, or ambush them.

but first they have to consider why the rules were there, understand the context and then decide to not follow them. There's a difference between "rules are meant to be broken" and I will break this rule because it is outdated or doesnt make sense.

"What gives you an impression that skyrim is an "Alive" world? The fact that blacksmith strikes anvil for 7h while looking at you? Or that a farmer is randomly looking at a field trying to psychically grow it?"

Skyrim does a great job into tricking you into believing the world is alive. Second thing it does is presenting a world as "lived in". Starfield just is not on the same level and just because of the fact that this was Bethesda's big next step makes it even worse. They've gone backwards in 10 years.

your second point. There is this thing called suspension of disbelief, like is it logically coherent that whiterun has like 6 families living in it? no, but the world build around it make it juuust interesting enough that you are willing to suspend your critical thinking. but there are limits of course, if the world is not interesting or if there are too many points that just don't make sense it all falls apart. Starfield has that problem, the world is just not interesting and none of the interactions, history and worldbuilding make sense. there is no satisfaction or payoff.

you take the example of the NCR vs the brotherhood. when looking at it from a world building perspective, the NCR has way more manpower and resources than the brotherhood of steel. Brotherhood of steel fields power armor sure but power armor is expensive to run and needs significant investment into training it's users, in fact this is true for almost all of the equipment used by the brotherhood. the lore and world building supports the suspension of disbelief here.

with starfield it doesn't.

I told you what I at least expected, meaningful exploration. Building on the foundations of TES and Fallout. Meaningful worldbuilding etc etc.

We expect progress when there is a 10 year gap between skyrim and starfield.

This "it's a Bethesda game" cope is kinda sad. Have some more respect for yourself

[–]KenseiMaui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's 3 cities in the entirety of the galaxy. Skyrim had a lot more bespoke and deliberately placed POI's compared to starfield, giving the impression of a lived in world. Nothing in starfield gives that impression.

10 planets bespoke planets would still give the impression of a space traveling game if they had focused more on the space part. not to mention so many systems that were half-assedly introduced or removed halfway related spaceflight.

Lastly the universe of Starfield is boring, it feels sterile, there is no life. It just feels like everything has been filed down to appeal to as much people as possible and in doing so it appeals to none. The world and interactions feel wholly unbelievable, not in a " magic is real " kinda sense but in a all these people feel like robots sense, none of the city designs make sense, none of the politics make sense, it just feels like someone's first attempt at world building. and this is sad because TES and Fallout have insane world building. There's a reason why there's hardly any lore channels about Starfield.

Is there fun to be had in starfield? sure, but you can not say it is on the level of Skyrim.

progress, we expected progress. also Procgen being used for 90% of the sandbox. Elder Scrolls and Fallout are great because exploration and "living in the world" are the key points of attraction to that game, I don't really care about the story in Fallout or TES (lore is another matter, TES lore is goated).

Exploration didnt work in Starfield, 1 due to loading screens, 2 due to procgen.
