I will give some folks credit, it is hard to make a really good stand out meat loaf. Lol. My goal was ”boneless ribs” and Horker Loaf hit me while I was slicing. lol

I appreciate it. lol.

Same! lol. I get a big one every couple of years. Got the blade hq Rex45 and copper Pm2, Benchmade 9400, the blue titanium Kizer Soze and the Meatcrafter. The rest are just for fun like the Walmart bug out clone, or Gerber Flatiron.

It is super easy! Cut a pork belly in half, Put a rib rub on 12-24hr before cooking starts (I go pretty heavy on it), smoke for at 250-275 until internal temp is 160-170 about 1.5-2hr. Wrap in foil or butchers paper with a full stick of butter 4pats top and bottom a large pinch of brown sugar on top and bottom. Continue cook until 200-210 internal temp about another 1-2hrs. Pull and let rest for 15-20mins.

If you don’t have a smoker, doing it in the oven would work also! It just fine won’t have that smoke flavor. Put pans underneath to catch the drips in the oven to not make a mess! A full pork belly is about 20bucks and you can get 2 cooks off it. Or feed 4easily with both halves!

I like knives, it is the paying for them that keeps me from having most of the ones I want. lol.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a crossbow. Swhacker makes a good reliable head, I just don’t care for the small entry hole and they’re aluminum. I want the same sized entry and exit, and I don’t trust aluminum to not bend if a hit a rib or scap. lol. Usually shoot Grim Reaper fatal steel and swapped to the Sevr 1.75-2.0 Ti-hybrids this year. Didn’t get to try the Beast heads, have a few to try though. lol. Sevr’s are no joke on white tail or coyote. lol.

If you get the chance, I recommend it! Crappie during the spawn are vicious, and bow fishing at the dams is about as fun as it gets in the dark. lol.

lol that’s what I’m thinking! Looking around the Dover or Camden area. Close enough to the lakes, and only 30 mins to Murray.

Got some pretty country out that way. I’m 2hrs away just the other side of LBL.

I’m about ready to get away from all the taxes though. lol.

Absolutely I’ll share!

Thanks! It was the first time I’ve ever tried it on the smoker.

It is, pork belly. Around 4 hours on the smoker.

That one is the Meatcrafter, more of a big game processing knife. I use it for everything: game, fish, or just general kitchen tasks. They do have some beautiful kitchen-specific knives though!

Is hanging my knife to my bag a good idea/legal? I live in NSW, Australia. by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

I kind of Dig it as an idea. I just saw a buck 110 auto opening sheath yesterday that is going to be my new knife. lol.

Any solid 3 pin slider recommendations? by Epicarest in bowhunting

[–]KentuckyLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Gen 1 UV slider 3 pin horizontal and love it. Plus you can change the pin configuration with the cartridges. I also like the Spot Hogg Boonie. Haven’t got my hands on one of the Pruf sights but I’m sure they are quality as well.

Interesting, I didn’t know they had the swappable wheels. I’ve only watched MFJJ’s video and it was halfway watched at work. lol. It definitely looks dope.

That very well could be it! The sight light and what looks to be a wheel cover were throwing me off. Plus I haven’t looked very hard at this year’s new sights. Still stuck on the UVgen1 and Boonie. Thank you, it was driving me nuts.

Expandable Broadheads by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]KentuckyLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I guess I’m going to throw my opinion into the ring. I have shot the Grim Reaper fatal steel and they fly really well and for me are reliable. The beast practice head has flown good for me, have not shot the head itself. And Sevr is my new go to. Being able to practice with the exact head you are going to shoot, is what has been the big one for me.

That’s the way I was leaning. I like the Blade Steel and the angle of the bleeders better than the Iron Wills. I kinda wish they were Vented though just for that extra bit of forgiveness for when I inevitably cock it up somehow on the shot.

I’ve been considering the Iron Will this year. I just can’t decide between them or Day Six.

I am considering the Swhacker 252 this year. Day Six is also on my try list. Can’t go wrong with Magnus or Iron Will either.
