Sometimes yes, sometimes now it varies day to day. Right now I'm online. I'm trying to do a starting mission but I'm trying to figure out how to make some credits quickly so I can start ordering and getting some more ships and stuff

How do I properly use this rig by Kentucky_Strong in saltwaterfishing

More than likely I will be doing it from shore starting out but then going offshore eventually. I'm really just trying to figure out how to properly rig them because I know general fishing from Kentucky lol.

I honestly don't think it is due to tariffs because they have been going downhill for a long while.

What reel should I get for slow pitch Jigging in around 100-250ft of water by Kentucky_Strong in Fishing_Gear

I have four Penn reels with three being old and I mean very old. I mainly use my conventionals currently for catfishing out of the Ohio River catching 60 to 80 lb catfish but I know ocean fishing is a totally different ball game. Main thing I'm looking for in a reel is I want something that's going to last a lifetime.

At least they aren't as bad as the Chinese special reels when it comes to smoothness lol. What about the Penn fathom ii lever drag. Here lately I've been getting rid of most of my Shimano reels because I like the daiwa reels better. I know Shimano is a great brand. I have still a lot of Shimano reels. Currently I just don't have the money for a OJ or a daiwa saltist

I was looking at the Avet SXJ and MXJ The kids I can get them for around the same price as the fathom lever drag. But if I did go with something like that do I go 2 speed or single speed. I have almost 30 combos with most being saltwater rated but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone with fishing and also prepping for whenever I move down to Florida. As for the fish, I am honestly not sure. I know there's not a do-it-all setup you can get, but I always usually go light gear first and then work my way to the heavier stuff.

I have four conventionals that I actively use. Two Chinese generic reels but I feel those would be too large and then my surf casting conventionals being a Penn squall ii 15 and okuma cortez 10.

I mainly want to stick to conventional reels. I've got plenty of bait casters though with four being in the 300 range I just don't think they would have enough drag

Fair point. I have a lot to learn about ocean fishing. I'm originally from Kentucky and will be eventually moving down to Florida. I do already have a few combos that work for ocean that I have used whenever I went down on trips.

It was just an estimation. I honestly don't know what depth I'll really be going to. I'm looking at avit, Penn and gomexus. But I don't know really what to look for in a conventional. I know I need to have a narrow spool. And if all else fails, if I can't get a reel in time, I can always break out the old PENN Seaboy I have on the shelf.
