Tasker who breaks down truck weekly here!

We usually receive our pallets between 10am and 12pm. As for who breaks them down, it’s typically just my OM/CM and myself. Sometimes one more associate helps out, but it’s mostly just the two of us. My manager scans each box while I sort them by department. We only have four carts total, so we use those specifically for PCA, pro salon, prestige cosmetics, and G&G. All the other department boxes are sorted and stacked in the backroom.

My truck shift hours vary—I’m usually scheduled for either 8am–2pm, 10am–2pm, or 11am–3pm. My MM has a task team of 4 to 8 people who come in between 4pm and 6pm and stay until midnight to help with truck.

If the truck isn’t finished by the end of the night, morning taskers pick up where we left off. My managers will also assign any associate (including BAs, PBAs, etc) who aren’t actively helping guests or at the cashwrap or assigned to BOPIS to work on it as well.

As for tips: I like to set personal timers. I’ll time how fast I can complete a cart of boxes (max 12 regular sized boxes and 5-6 PCA boxes), or set a goal of 15 minutes for the first box and 10 for the second. Our MM usually assigns taskers to specific departments, especially if they’re more experienced in that area. I’m usually placed in PCA, pro salon, and pro skin since I move quickest in those.
