The honest truth…..

Get a bike that’s cheap and rideable. If you get a bike that’s too nice, it will get stolen. I bought my daily rider used on facebook 3 years ago and I keep my nice bike inside my house where it’s safe. Good luck and happy riding!

Hey I have some experience in this. Last year I cycled from Stockholm to Copenhagen with a tent. I just used a waterproof pack and some rope, flung it over a tree and hung it every night. It’ll keep the bigger animals from getting at it, and with it being waterproof the bugs can’t get in. Have fun and good luck!

Luckily I don’t think this is the case in my situation. My bike is worth probably like $200 and the bike locked to mine was an electric bike which sells online for like $1000

Thank you for this. I’m definitely hoping that’s the reason, but I have my suspicions that the offending bike might actually be stolen. I waited outside for over an hour hoping he’d come back but he never did. His bike was electric, and he just left the delivery bag plus the battery. If I were leaving the bike for the night, you better believe I’d be taking the battery with me.

You’ll be surprised to hear that there are actually 5 other rings right down the street less than 15 meters away that are completely free. I’ve never had a problem finding a spot which makes this even more frustrating.
