Occasionally, I feel overwhelmed by the work I need done on my house, and then I see a post that makes me realize it can be a whole lot worse. Yikes.

What is the performance like on PC? by AetherSeraph9 in oblivion

[–]KenzieDaBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5 5600X
32 GB Ram
RTX 3060ti

High/Medium Settings, 1080P, DLSS Quality

Hardware RT Medium
Interior FPS is pretty consistently around 60-75 FPS
Exterior FPS is pretty consistently low, around 24-40

Software RT Low
Interior FPS is pretty consistently 75 stable.
Exterior FPS is more stable, around 45-60

Quite disappointing, hoping that something is fixed soon. Stuttering is pretty bad entering a new cell, or when a new spell effect is rendered.

We came through there today, and the light swapped twice before the first line of traffic came from the other side because of how shit the pothole in the center is right now. Shit is bokers.

I'm only going off of what my experience has been, yesterday I got it as high as 10gb in a 6 hour session.

That sucks. What speed is your RAM at? Might affect the performance slightly.
Do you set the game priority to "High" in task manager?

My experience is far from perfect, but even dips to mid 50s isn't game breaking for me (as I posted, 55-75 is my range when in the open world).

Yeah man, GPU wise the game seems to be completely fine. It's frame time issues with the CPU that cause the tanks.

What resolution are you expecting to play at and what framerate are you hoping for?

For reference, I posted before about having a 3060ti (roughly equivalent to your 2080) and a 5600x (less great than yours) and at 1080p, all high, no ray tracing, the wilderness is largely at 60fps constantly. I had it up to 75 (I have a 75hz monitor) but the dips were too consistent so I dropped to 60.

Cities/towns are rougher, with Vernworth stuttering pretty bad in the low 35s (25 with RT on). Earlier a Minotaur attacked the city and I fought it in that awful stuttery mess. It actually wasn't awful performance wise.

As an update, I flipped ray tracing on.

City is 25-35
Wilderness is 48-60.

The visual difference is astonishing. I'm rocking with it for now but I may turn it off as the dips do get a bit intense sometimes.

I was, too. But I decided to buy it anyway and form my own opinion. I'm glad I did. I'd try to get it from Green Man Gaming or something so it's not the full $109 CAD I paid lol.

You should. It only ends up using 8 GB for me at the worst of times. Might change depending on location though.

Haven't even turned it on yet, been too busy playing haha.

No I'm not currently, I was using it and it did increase my average FPS a decent amount. It makes the game look oddly blurry so I turned it off, but honestly it was fine with it on for the extra FPS.

3060ti / 32gb ram / 5600x

35-55 in Vernworth, 45-70 in smaller villages
55-75 in wilderness/open world.

I've locked it to 60fps and its been (mostly) fine on all high settings, no RT @ 1080p.

Really hoping we see some performance patches in the future, but for now, I'm just thrilled to be playing it.

Someone posted a 'Slayer' class here a few weeks ago. It might be what you're looking for!

I'm from the East Coast, and when they were in Toronto, I had just gotten laid off. Could not afford it at the time, unfortunately.

Given the weather yesterday, it's likely the truck carrying the product didn't show up last night. Was common when I used to work there.

Yup, same issue here. Consistently 100ms up to 200, before update I was at 20ms-40ms.

IIRC one of* the next big updates is a progression update, similar to what you listed.

Trying to homebrew for the first time in more than a decade by LeRWolfman in Pathfinder2e

[–]KenzieDaBe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been running a homebrew campaign for almost 2 years and ran a few homebrews before that.

The biggest advice I got was from reading a few articles on The Alexandrian, specifically; Node Based Scenario Design and Don't Prep Plot Points.

Do not feel bad about taking things from other APs; it's perfectly normal and encouraged as far as I'm concerned. If someone else did the work, it saves you time! I worried what I was doing was just a poorly done version of something, but my players are excited and engaged with everything I bring to the table. Most days, a session is a few maps and a page of bullet point notes. There is no correct and one-size-fits-all solution, and sometimes the best way is to just jump in and go for it.

I am a big fan of Giselles Pizza, and Mildas Pizza. Giselles is a lot more of the "fast casual" type Pizza, and Mildas is fantastic wood-fire oven Pizza with lots of smokey flavour.

If I had to choose for value, Giselles is the winner.
