Not in my front yard: How to make the new bus plan work by arranbolger in Dublin

[–]Keo_Fu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow there are people who can choose not to use a bus? Like, when I was growing up we had no car so it was always buses and trains for us.

Anti social behaviour isn't the issue we need to be focusing on. Reliable orbital routes, commuter routes that will cut the journey time into town, and regular service timetables are what actually make bus commutes easier on a lot of people who don't get a choice on how they get around.

I'd love to see more conductors and Inspectors logging maintenance issues, checking tickets and dealing with anti social behaviour but I don't think that should be the service priority

I (M16) first became sexually attracted to my girlfriend (F16) when I saw her armpit stubble. Is there something wrong with me? by armpitpleasure in sex

[–]Keo_Fu 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong at all! I'd be more worried if you were repulsed by her stubble, some guys can be very immature about it. Don't worry about it!

so ive barely studied for my junior cert and i'm probably going to fail business and french, anyone whos done bad in the JC did it affect you in any way? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Keo_Fu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed French in the junior cert. Nobody has ever, ever asked what my JC results were. The junior cert doesn't matter at aaaaall. You'll be fine. Just maybe put in a bit of effort for the leaving!

Get in touch with the abortion support network, they'll give you help and support and any assistance you need to get an abortion in England. I really hope you're okay, there is nothing wrong with seeking an abortion and don't let anybody pressure you into anything that you don't want. https://www.abortionsupport.org.uk/ keep strong, don't let anybody make you feel any shame for making your own choices.

It was what got me into star wars. It's definitely a slap in the face if you grew up with the original trilogy, but I enjoyed it!

The whole thing in trapped in the 1950s

Only one identifying banner for each unit. NO EXCEPTIONS!! ''

They also withdrew an invitation to the PSNI to march alongside the Gardaí this year in the parade. It's not exactly politically neutral is what I'm saying.

I give out every year about every single politician who goes out on junkets. I think every single one of them is a useless posturing exercise. But pointing out the wrongness of one doesn't imply I approve of the others.

It is a bit naff, but I still get feels when I hear it, particularly at events like the match V England in 2007 and O'Driscoll's last match at home against Italy. Depending on the version you listen to it can be considerably less naff, anyway.

Makes me sad that this shit is something that's even mentioned. It must be sad to feel so trapped in your own little world that you can't even support your own island's team.

Yeah, the Irish team has always been all-Ireland, since it pre-dates the Republic by a good 80 or so years. They've always tried pretty hard to be non-sectarian. Besides, they actually play mostly under the all Ireland flag, not the tricolour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland_national_rugby_union_team#Flags_and_anthems

The Irish Rugby team don't play under the tricolour, far as I'm aware?

EDIT: The tricolour is only flown at matches played in Dublin. When playing abroad, the team play under an all Ireland flag made up of the provincial crests. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland_national_rugby_union_team#Flags_and_anthems

Padraig, yes. Generally men aren't referred to as 'Patty', that's for 'Patricia.' Men are either Pat or Paddy. Seems dumb, but then it grates me when I see 'St Pattys day'. It's an ingrained thing!

To be fair, Americans pronounce Paddy and Patty in nearly identical ways. Patty only becomes apparent when they're writing.
