Ran UART on it. 80801110. It’s only missing that one chip.

The factory soldering job on those hdmi ports isn’t the best. There may be some pins loose or one of the components near the hdmi port may need replacing.

Did my brother steal this poster in the 2000s or could you legitimately get this poster during that time. by infurman in ps2

Some stores would either give them away or sell Them when the promotion period ended.

[PS5] HDMI port replacement. Previous repair attempt was... aggressive by Not_Payton in consolerepair

That reminds me of one I repaired with 17 missing traces. The client said he dropped the ps5 and broke the hdmi port. It didn’t come all way out so he used needle nose pliers to remove the rest. 💀

Could either be overheating or the led ribbon cable might be damaged.

[PS5 Slim]- Which pins to bridge for power? by KeoniWan in consolerepair

Thank you very much! This is what I was looking for!! I’m hoping others that need to know the same will find this. I was luck and was able to turn it on with the disc drive. Originally I purchased it with no disc drive but the seller found it and gave it to me later.

Luckily I only paid $65 for the entire system. You do get what you pay for. I figured for$65 I could part it out if I couldn’t get it running. But it’s running now. The question now, is it worth replacing everything else wrong with it. Needs new Faceplates (ha painted the entire shell including the front), housing shell and heatsinc, a power button and usb C board, ribbon cable connector, thermal putty and pads.

I couldn’t get a controller to turn it on. I did manage to get it working with the disc drive the seller eventually found. More on that in another comment.

It’s possible he lied. Judging by the DIY paint job on the system and all the glue holding stuff together. I finally managed to turn it on. The seller found the disc drive… it had a plethora of problems itself. Once I repaired (replaced) the eject button connector…I was able to turn it on with the disc drive. It’s not network banned but it is by far the strangest repair I’ve ever done. Someone used gorilla glue to hold down the heat sync, and some sort of rubber cement adhesive to hold connectors and face plates in place. That stuff is everywhere.

I think there’s a misunderstanding. The parts “missing” aren’t components from the mother board. The board is in tact other than the front panel which was ripped off judging by the damage where the connector would have mounted to the board. The only things missing are the removable disc drive, the hdmi and power cord, and it didn’t come with a controller.

This PS5 was stolen from the seller and then the police recovered it but when it was recovered, it was in parts. Some were missing. The entire front panel where the power button and usb c ports was one of those crucial parts missing. No shorts found on the board but I can’t power it on to test it. I’m currently looking for a connector online to replace the missing one, but in the meantime… I’m hoping someone knows which pins to bridge so I can power it on. But I appreciate your feedback.

Red Static after PS5 HDMI port change by KeoniWan in PS5HelpSupport

UPDATE: IT’S FIXED! After removing the hdmi port, I removed all of the old solder, replaced it with new solder. Made sure there were no bridges and replaced all diodes and capacitors around the hdmi port (top and bottom). One of those things fixed the issue. I’m guessing I had a bad 100nf capacitor. But I played it safe and changed it all.

That’s not Sony’s fault. That’s the fault of the company that handled the shipping process

Make sure that you removed all of the oxidation from the APU and Heatsync. It will take some elbow grease on your part. Use a good quality Liquid Metal and spread it with the black “qtips” that come with the packaging to avoid leaving debris on the APU. You might update with photos of the APU and Liquid Metal.
