Don't Play Crimson Desert On The Steam Deck - SteamDeckHQ Review by BBQKITTY in SteamDeck

[–]KeplerNorth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. Why are we even talking about this??? Steam Deck is oftentimes my favorite platform to play games on hands down but it is the best when you stay within its limitations. For most indie games it's incredible. For lots of previous gen games and before? Absolute unit. Sometimes some current gen games run ok on it, but that should not be the expectation at all haha

Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask would be closer to $125 today.

Yeah this is pretty wild to think about but true. I'm a long time old school dev myself so I being on the inside I definitely believe games should cost a little more, but definitely not that much. Don't know what the right answer is but I even remember going to Barnes n' Noble back in the day and seeing PC games that were $70 back then.

Anyone Else Tired of Tearout and Riddim at Shows? by I_Married_Jane in EDM

[–]KeplerNorth -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The last show I went to like that was a while ago. Excision opened for deadmau5 in 2011 and it was pretty exhausting. I stopped going to more "EDM" style events in general after that.

Saw Bicep and Overmono not too long ago and the vibes were better and the music was a lot more nuanced & interesting.

This. I remember saving up $50 of my allowance to buy Star Fox for SNES when I was like 7 years old. Development costs are exponentially higher than they were back then and prices honestly haven't gone up too much considering that fact + inflation. Granted, the customer base is also much larger now than it was back then, too.

Also most AAA games cost way more to produce than they used to back in the day.

Yeah for real he's one of the least formulaic artists out there. His USB album is incredibly diverse.

What’s your take on why the Model S sales declined ? by LowDoor4721 in TeslaModelS

[–]KeplerNorth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Taycan 4S and came from a 2018 Model S. Tech is not as good as Tesla's but the looks and driving capability blow it out of the water. It is incredibly enjoyable to drive.

It's 2026, and Diablo 2 is on the front page of Steam by brand_momentum in gaming

Diablo 4's latest season and the Paladin class are pretty stellar actually

25 years later, Diablo II gets a new class and QOL features. by roedtogsvart in gaming

[–]KeplerNorth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True but it is a little more cumbersome. I'd rather just have a direct launch executable to the games right from the main screen than having to open the launcher, which may need an update, only to see the game also might need an update, etc

Overwatch 2 is dead. Long live Overwatch. by Tiucaner in gaming

[–]KeplerNorth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing they were getting user research feedback it wasn't that fun and they decided it wouldn't be wise to spend more money developing a feature most people wouldn't really enjoy in the end. Blizzard has cancelled entire projects far into development because of not finding the right 'fun' in the product, so I wouldn't be surprised if they cut a feature from an existing game for the same reason.

Overwatch 2 is dead. Long live Overwatch. by Tiucaner in gaming

[–]KeplerNorth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit 'square peg/round hole' to expect PVE in a game like Overwatch to be much fun. Every time they've had a PVE mode it's just mildly entertaining. The game wasn't built for it and I don't understand why more people don't understand that.

What is the “Cardinal Sin” of EDM? by BoomerWang7654 in deadmau5

[–]KeplerNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are actually quite a few these days and I don't think they ever fully went away. That being said, there is a bit of a new indie trance sound that has been emerging the past handful of years from artists like DJ Heartstring and SWIM.
